Army is imparting anti terrorist training to other law enforcement agencies for effectively combating challenge of rampant terrorism. So far 1112 personnel of Punjab Police have been trained by Pakistan Army. Army has launched this drive of training Police Force in countering terrorism. In line with the direction of Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.

In the sequel, another batch of 156 Punjab Police Personal have accomplished specialist anti terrorist training.

The certificates were awarded to the successful trainees in an impressive ceremony at training centre at Jhelum.

Punjab Police has its own anti terrorist training school in Lahore, why these police personnel are not send to their own school

Probably because of the difference in curriculum. i think the Police ATT revolves primarily around urban terrorism, the Army's also works on brute force CT/AT courses apart from urban terrorism. Also, as the military now has a first hand experience they must transfer it to all.

i hope Rescue Ranger could add more on this.

BTW, almost every AT setup has been trained by the SSG (the ASF - hostage rescue etc), so it's not surprising if the regulars now train the Police in routine.
