Ive seen it all over, so I wont just blame the Jaag Punjabi Jaag bigotry- but the sad fact is that ALL parties of Pakistan exploit ethnic divides- be it those that claim to be "just" or those just plain open uchakzas with their ethnic hatred.
Bcz its the easiest way to penetrate the political market. Let's first highlight that each of these party's are only interested in gaining power and keeping themselves in power and they will do anything for power. They are a reflection of the nation.
With that established we can actually highlight the mindset of these parties.
These new parties know that they can't get center bcz they can't penetrate the market cornered by stronger parties.
They know that the people won't listen for issues like we need better laws, better administration.
They know that the people of Pakistan are whiny and believe that the parliament is not for law making but for repairing gutter, making roads, giving gas and electric meter and putting their son on a job. That's the job.
To grab and penetrate the market they showcase that we are your party by using the ethnic card and blaming other ethnicities for their plight. This allows them.an audience bcz the people of pakistan are always looking to blame someone for their misery. With this they also hide their own failures by blaming ethnic conspiracy. They keep barking it and get a little pie of power.
Its the most easiest form of politics but its also a dead end politics. An ethnic party can never evolve to become national party. From speeches to manifesto they focus on single ethnic politics. They can't appeal to the other ethnicity thus they always remain in a limbo. Always in a circle.
Pakistan is a multiethnic country that has many ethnicities and thus to exploit this situation we have tunic parties which creates racism.
We can't stop ethnic politics bcz its a democracy and they have right to do it.
For ethnic politics to end, the country needs yo change.
