Punjab canal bridges too fragile for Arjun tank : DRDO Chief

In past wars IA won armoured conflicts not with T series but NATO tanks such as Vickers/Vijayanta and Centurions because of thier thick armour and abitity to survive enemy AT rounds. Sadly those tanks are retired and IA is left with T series which are not known for crew survivability and our enemies are equipped with better AT weapons.

The best protected tank in our arsenal is Arjun but its heavy, but so is every other modern tank and they all proved thier worth because their operators did not whine that bridges were weak or tanks were too heavy. They found ways to bypass such roadblocks. Meanwhile our Army moans and bit.ches and finds excuses to reject capable platforms such as Arjun.

No, the T 90 is a very well protected tank. There are reports of Russian T 90s which were hit by +5 RPG rounds and still manged to get back to base in an ambush during the Chechen wars.

While there are several examples of Abrams tanks which were knocked out after one RPG hit in Iraq.

It depends on where RPG hit the tank.
BTW T90's kontakt5 is best of its kind.

this tank has been a gigantic waste of resources.

apparently it is a major achievement by Defence Establishment and path towards the future. Its success will make path for India towards more self sufficient.
