Chandigarh: As India mourned the killing of at least 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers in a suicide attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district, Punjab Cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu on Friday favoured talks with Pakistan.

At least 40 CRPF personnel were killed on Thursday in one of the worst terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir when a Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden SUV into their bus in Pulwama district.

JeM terror group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Notably, Navjot Singh Sidhu, the cricketer-turned-politician, was among the invitees for the swearing-in ceremony of his 'friend' Imran Khan as Pakistan’s PM in 2018.

"Where ever wars are fought and such things (Pulwama-type attack) happen, dialogue also continues simultaneously. There is a need to find a permanent solution to (issues between India and Pakistan). Such people (terrorists) have no religion, no country and no caste. When a snake bites, its antidote is also snake poison," Sidhu said.

Condemning the attack in Pulwama, Sidhu, however, posed: “For a handful of people, can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual?"

Sidhu’s statement came despite the fact that Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has not even condemned the attack even hours after the strike.

While Pakistan's PM Imran Khan stayed silent, countries from across the globe, including the US, Russia, China, France, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, have condemned the brutal attack.

Two Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were martyred while a civilian passerby was injured in a firing incident in Loralai city in Balochistan on Saturday, police officer Nasir Shah told DawnNewsTV.

"This was a targeted killing", Shah said.

While speaking to DawnNewsTV over the phone, the police officer said unknown miscreants had opened fire on the two security personnel in the Majeed Market area of Loralai bazar.

He added that the assailants managed to escape the scene unhurt.

The bodies of the martyred FC personnel have been shifted to Loralai Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

As per Shah, the police, FC and personnel from other law enforcement agencies had reached the site of the incident and an investigation was underway.

Panic prevailed in the already tense city after the fresh act of terror.

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani expressed his grief over the martyrdom of the two FC personnel. He condemned the incident and offered his condolences and support to the families of the martyred.

He added that "the cowardly acts of terrorists could not undermine the resolve of security forces".

The chief minister ordered that security measures in Loralai be further strengthened and strict action be taken against terrorists.

This incident comes less than a month after terrorists attacked the office of the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Zhob Range, in Loralai on January 29, which left nine people dead.

Unfortunately I will also blame Pakistani govt and awam for this. Respect is gained not demanded. Indians have done tremendous job to make world realize that anything bad in india is due to Pakistan, Pakistan never did this. You need strong economy, supporting awam who don't fall for indian crap, strong diaspora who create strong lobbies internationally, strong diplomats around the world, etc etc. Pakistan has none for now.

I know my post will be in bad taste, but I wish Pakistanis learn from past mistake. You can't only rely on military. Military has its limits. Remember military won Pakistanis 99 war but due to above mentioned reasons Pakistan faced diplomatic defeat.

Things are going to change a lot in the near future, look at what's happening around Pakistan;

The US and their foolish narrative is finally fleeing Afghanistan, China will double down on supporting Pakistan, Iran is planning to significantly increasing trade, and PM Imran actually understands the value of proactive foreign policy and the effect of lobbying.

This is not in bad taste, this is the bitter truth. i dont follow intl media a lot, but even i have noticed that the western media just parrots the indian narrative, proof doesnt matter. this rubbish is what their people read, and this is what shapes the minds of their politicians and public. our FO and diplomats keep on sleeping.

To make matters worse, our own media keeps on bashing the military and praising the anti-state elements. with groups like the dawn and express in our midst, who needs enemies? the idiots dont seem to realize that not everything every bit of information is for everyone. they are doing more harm than good.

This state of affairs is frustrating, to say the least.

Soon Karma will come to bite Imran Khan
Karma will bite imran khan but you dirty Bharti are karma proof ... Aren't you?
You bastards have killed, raped and blinded innocent kashmiris and what.what is happening with kashmiri youth studying in hostels and kashmiri shops etc, you are creating a new string of suicide bombers which has nothing to do with Pakistan.
You would send proxy and do terrorism in Pakistan tit for tat. Or you can kill more innocent kashmiris but this core issue would not be solved..
Remember peshawar incident or thousands others, we too shook with pain when you barbarians have not even spared our kids.
Karma works both way .
It's taking revenge from you .
Pakistan right now is a different Pakistan, it needs better economy, it cannot do anything like this, where our relations with us seems to be imrpoving etc.
This time even the worst critic are not blaming Pakistan..
But you dirty Indians are brainwashed by your media.. Good for you

.
Pakistan foreign office have given statement. That's more than enough.
Why should imran khan be apologetic? Did he turned Adil dar into freedom fighter through brutality?
