Model Town clash: JIT report suggests police FIR be quashed – The Express Tribune

When the govt constituted an investigation team (for Model Town inquiry) including ISI and MI representatives, N-Leaguers and the so called 'intellectuals' didnt find any problem with it. But if Imran Khan demands such a thing then suddenly democracy is being threatened.

IK said today that the investigation should be completed by November 30 'or else'.

What exactly does he mean by 'or else'? Is he threatening the government again?

Only the ECP can conduct such an investigation according to the Constitution. Has the ECP asked the ISI to help it conduct such an investigation?

There is no legal framework to look into the 'overall' validity of the elections. Therefore, both the sides have agreed to pass an ordinance to allow for this so that a Judicial Commission comprising of SC judges may be able to undertake this task. A JIT will only be helping the Judicial Commission and it doesnt matter which investigating agencies are in the JIT once the Judicial Commission has been given the mandate.

The current dispute is on the TORs of the Judicial Commission.

Yes there is, Sir. There is an entire section in the Constitution covering all matters related to elections, including validity.
