Maryum nawaz is okay since she is prono queen and helps entertain people with harshment videos like shirtless guy etc but this is not good for this guy. He clearly violated her intelluctual rights..you should understand that its her right to make prono vidoes not someone else

I have seen the video. It is not a Deepfake. It is also not Maryum Nawaz doing the dancing. Just some poor girl who has some similarity to MN in a Mehndi setting mostly likely in the US. The video was incorrectly pushed as being that of Maryum. In no way could this be a crime. The guy in this case just shared what was already out there floating around as a Maryum video, which btw the way it clearly is not. So, net net, the hand of the law has to contort in order to make this case stick. It is not a DeepFake. So this legal action is a poor effort at best, which is also why the fellow was send to Jail remand, and not to police remand. If people are going to get arrested for sharing content they did not create, then God help us. We are setting precedents that make Pakistan's legal system a complete joke.

This keeps getting interesting. The CJP will now legislate. He will tell us what he feels is a severe or non-severe punishment. So now he'll legislate on the fly. What he should state is that the law as written is vague, and does not stipulate the punishment short of de-seating. Duration is not defined and as such the legislature needs to clarify that. The fact that the CJP surmises and gives his view on severe nature of lifetime ban speaks to his COI and bias. He needs to only interpret the law, not give it color or his views. Horrible. The jokes on our nation keep getting worse.
