Speaker, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Asad Qaiser on Thursday said the PTI government had started implementing its energy policy and planning to initiate mega hydropower projects with capacity of producing 20,000MW electricity in next 10 years.

Addressing the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected office bearers of the Press Gallery of KP Assembly, he said the establishment of peace was the top most priority of the PTI government in the province, adding the government would go to any end to guarantee protection to business community in the province.

Others who present on the occasion were included Deputy Speaker Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi and Secretary, KP Assembly Amanullah Khan while a large number of the members of press gallery. He said for the achievement of that objective, the provincial government would bring reforms in police and would also improve intelligence gatherings. He said the government would observe zero-tolerance for those involved in the heinous crimes of kidnapping for ransom and robberies and dacoities. He said in case of any such incident, the police official concerned would be taken to task.

Speaker, KP Assembly said that other priorities of the PTI government were education and health sectors and it would allocate maximum funds for bringing improvement in them. He said members of the provincial assembly would pay visit to hospitals to improve the standard of treatment facilities in them.

He said work on the budget for next financial year was continued on war footing and was confident of the fulfilment of all electoral commitments with the people, adding the government would be responsible for the misdeeds and illegal use of powers by any of its legislator and official functionary.

He said they were adopting austerity and he himself had donated his salary to Shaukat Khanam Memorial Hospital.

He said though the province was passing through a difficult situation, but they were ready for facing any challenge and turning it into opportunity.

In other news , Nawaz plans to beg for electricity in India

How is the KP Government going to achieve this? Consider the 2012-2013 budget:

The Punjab will get Rs 576.9 billion, Sindh Rs 324.4, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rs 191.8 billion and Balochistan Rs 110.2 from the federal taxes.

It is a long term plan so basically it is linked with improving financial situation of KPK.

Who is speaker to tell about this ???

Your point?

As of now, people are extremely impatient. They want to see the change right away. It takes years to build a dam unfortunately. We are under 7 billion dollars of circular debt. Thats more than our military budget. Our economy is in ruins and we are under huge IMF debt. On top of that, only punjab, few parts of KPK, few parts of sindh and few parts of balochistan pay taxes. Tax rate is extremely low. 5 years seem like a really small period to address all these issues but we will still see a positive change soon because one thing that PMLN can do right away is control corruption. We lose over 1 billion dollars a year in corruption.

his point is to derail the thread, waise I think he is trying to say jo speaker hota hai, woh speaker hota hai, assembly kay ander ho ya bahir

well, I dont know how either... I think its long term projects that they are looking forward to initiate, as the news said its 10 year project, was priority should be to meet the demand first, money should first be spent on those projects.

Speakers are not to discuss party politics, their role is above this thing ( if you know something about Parliamentary practises )

Rumour is this is what they should get if there is no electricity theft, but if provinces fail to reduce electricity theft Federal govt will deduct money from their taxes to compensate theft

Well bottom line is they have already started the process of change
declaring heavy budget increase in health care and solving problems for community in Nya Pakistan

I am very happy with the development so far , respectable and good direction not , begging around or scratching heads

I think they should start up with Experts like that will form a fesibility of this with research. Start the work from North to south of KPK and see what are the best places where we could have Dam of ANY CAPACITY and not to forget Run of River Power Generation. Also they must look into harnesing solar and wind energy where possible.

I know that PTI has good people, if some one is hearing from them then please convey this to the PTI or KPK members INSHA ALLAH it will work for them or at least give them an idea. Ameen.

Pakistan has done research and feasibility reports for nearly 7 decades. It's about time someone puts one of those already completed feasibility reports into practice.

Every Government when it comes in, does survey, research and prepares feasibility reports for 4 years. It then starts initiating projects based on those reports in the fifth year. Next thing you know, that Government loses elections as always, new Government comes, discards previous projects because it doesn't have their name on it and starts from scratch again.

We need to get out of this vicious circle.

Since when PMLN supporters started to get worried about parliamentary practices. You should listen to Punjab assembly speakers last speech rather than lecturing others. Even if i take your point then under which law did he break any rule as he only mentioned his party policies regarding energy and that in an interview.

I think in about 10 years KPK would be selling electricity to Punjab, jahan haramkhor Khuwajay or Ranay hukamran ban bethay hain....

A person needs to shows some will to get through difficult times. Here PMLN already gave up. Seriously hate these politicians as they scream from all their holes to solve major problem and when time comes they start making excuses.
