The pictures speak for themselves.

Construction is not upto code and compliance. This looks like a classic case of corruption. The painted on asphalt will not last the incoming monsoon.

Imran Bhayya mafia going strong

If people want it then roads should be built.. secondly Pakistan has a lot of under utilized roads hopefully these will he properly utilised

Forget about drainage. Where is the pavement. Or does it require space technology to build simple pavements?

I just assumed at some point they decided to not build pavements in Pakistan.

Never seen one in AJK. although watching YouTube I have seen them in parts of Pakistan, like Islamabad and Lahore.

Besides pavements stop you from parking 20-40 motorbikes right at the front of every shop.

Of all my hates about Pakistan that annoys me everytime I go there lack of pavements is amongst top of the list. Everytime I go to Pakistan it has improved. Last year I really enjoyed myself and this year I had booked to go this March and then the red list thing happened.

Even most of Islamabad or Lahore do not have pavements. No pavement is the default. It annoys me for three reasons. First it ignores the pedestrian and places them in the same flow as vehicular traffic thus creating danger. This also impedes vehicular progress when you get throngs of people just chilling on the road. Second lack of clear 'line' of the road on both sides does not help orientation as your driving which often because of lack of road markings makes this worse. Thirdly it just gives a picture of untidy disorder and encourages people just to parl anywhere or spill on to the road.

Another of my hates is animals left to intrude on to the highway posing danger and being a right annoying nuisence.
