Did this no kickback policy start, AFTER this?

‘No criminal case pending against Benazir’
September 16, 2007
Three presidential references were prepared by the Ehtasab Bureau of the Nawaz Sharif government under the Ehtasab Ordinance of 1997. Two of them charged Ms Bhutto and her husband with receiving kickbacks from Switzerland-based firms Cotecna and the SGS, who had been awarded contract for pre-shipment assessment of customs duty on exportable merchandise.
Yes could be a trigger but I think was a global initiative because EU started scrutinising ethical practices. It had only tech related business activities left while I was there and sales heads often complained they couldn't make headway on alot of really great innovations being introduced elsewhere because of this handicap.

Because governments job is not to run commercial organizations, because no matter how honest and strict the government is Most Pakistanis are corrupt to the core and will find ways to exploit their positions to make illegal money and harm the institution besides hiring incompetent people just to draw salary because of political affiliations. It's better to commercialize things, let the private parties make money and government generates its revenue by taxing them and not worrying about the losses or corruption

do you have any idea that a typical Pakistani airport employs more than any other?

instead of shaving off the surplus the government has the great idea of privatisation of every possible thing.

all of these services are being catered to by government employees.

this man is dragging his feet in his quest for tourism money. typical baniya niazi

atleast now the thread has progressed passed the Canadian non profit bit.

So can you please name me the private entities who have been strictly made to follow the rules? What is the bidding process to esnure "transparency" or will they be rewarded by the same token of nepotism before?

.
Most of the airports all over the world are already run by private companies, only the immigration and customs processes remain in the hands of the Government. An airport without "immigration" is no different than any other bus stop or "laari adda" for the customers to sit there and wait for their flights.

You know you are asking dumb questions, there are no guarantees of 100% honesty and transparency anywhere in the world. In principal privatising the government owned commercial entities is definitely going to reduce corruption at government level, cut down never-ending losses at the tax-payers expense and boost economic activity. did you forget about SNC-Lavalin scandal?

How do you boost economic activity by creating more unemployed people?

Those who will be fired will be entitled for pension and everything.

.
it's not unemployment, it's getting rid of deadwood. if the employees were any good, the organization won't be incurring losses for decades and sucking the blood of tax-payers.

They will be entitled for pension anyways after 10/15 more years of non-productive employment contributing nothing to the organization but drawing full salaries and benefits and maybe stealing from the organization too

They can be made to work. They would still get paid why not make them work?

In the beginning it looks rosy and everything back home looks stone age.

Pride is never a safe bet.

It usually leads to a fall.

But thanks for the offer.

No problem, best of luck. Internet banter is just internet banter. People in real life are very different.

Some theory suggest otherwise.

The anonymous bubble gives the insecurities a sense of normalcy

Referring to the original, as set up by the holy Prophet?
or the mantra of the sitting pm?
I don't believe in talk unless followed by action, thought is good but so far I don't see a convincing action.
and to be honest, I don't expect to see any convincing action, not because I doubt his sincerity, but only because the rot is so deep that one man can't do anything unless he is ready to kill every past and present corrupt person regardless of their position, political affiliation, race, religion or status. and unfortunately, this will never happen in Pakistan

what will you say when someone says this about ryasat e madina?

This is the simple matter which one needs to understand. The system is bound to deliver to certain established quarters and the whole enterprise is run as a capitalist empire.

It simply does not matter who is riding the head of the snake.

I also don't agree with the theory that one man can change the course of history in a lifetime. This was an honor reserved for someone special.

But what can be expected is making the system work for its practical purposes while achieving targets closer to your original political doctrine whatever they maybe.

The corruption scandals, nepotism and abuse of power has only increased in Pakistan as people now have a handsome excuse for it.
