PTI dissidents eye formation of 'new party'

IK's biggest mistake was that he brought a butter knife to a gunfight, with no real compelling way to raise the cost for the puppeteers (they don't give a F about peaceful street protests).

A rigged system, kangaroo courts, an unaccountable deep state --- yet he wants to win from within this system? This is a contradiction in terms and an affront to logic.
Isn’t this the reason why holding elections would be futile exercise?

Same faces gonna win, then what? Another deadlock politics?

Braindead babay of Mil Estab. is not deciphering it, or actually they understand it that more political engineering will led to more abysmal state of the economy and will trickle down to the Military as well. People will rebel with stronger force when put against the wall and nowhere to go...

Blinded by the hate and power drunk, they need to look and introspect.

Every likelyhood that KPK, ex FATA people, part of Balochistan, with dissent brewing against the Army honchos, their suppression, will rebel against them, and side with the Afghan Talibans, and with TTP, and can create a situation similar to 71.

And India will make use of this bad blood created with eyes on GB and Azad Kashmir, people are protetsing their as well.

Still haven't learned anything these scoundrels.

Ab kya keh sakta hun?

Nothing makes sense. Apologists on this forum will defend him saying he tried, awam failed him, this and that. Sure, but he never had directly confrontational rhetoric. He never went underground and launched a movement to topple the system. Never asked everyone to burn it down.

These apologists and their leader (who I reluctantly support simply because the other dynasties are just too bad) want the fruits of revolution without the pain and process of it. You can't have it both ways.

In a culture where it's all 'yessir,' where people are constantly sucking up, where you live in an echo chamber/epistemic bubble and rely on the reports of your staff, there is no other option but this outcome.

People are exposing themselves. This will be good for PTI. PMLN and PPP vote will be further divided.

an alliance with mian maryam safdar awan sharif party might be on the cards.

They will create a party to divide PTI, if successful then the party will stay, if the new party becomes like PSP then most likely it will merge with PmlN. The party does have a chance of success, they will target South Punjab, Karachi and Balochistan. 30MNAs, 50MPAs will be enough success, seat adjustment is also an option.

Moun wich boot alay tattay party?

So MWBAT or BAT party 😄

this formula is known by the whole country where party is broken and a splinter party is created. the splinter party ultimately fails and GHQ beats retreat.

before we used to hear the news that so and so is leaving but now we know how people are tortured by GHQ and threatened. before it was rumors but now we know its fact.

We don't know that for a fact.

You don't start a systematic rhetoric against the 'establishment and start verbal abusing sitting SC Judges and CJ's without some sort of strong footing on the ground.

Otherwise, IK is just really, really, really stupid!

Point is, he must have underground 'assets.' The only problem was that he overestimated his leverage in the overall grand scheme of things.

He overplayed his hand, plain and simple.

Never asked everyone to burn it down.

Come-on man, Really?! They attacked GHQ and other military installations, for crying out loud!

As a political minion, jiala or whatever, you don't attack the Godforsaken military and risk getting perished in the process... not unless the orders are coming from way up top in the political hierarchy.

So yeah, don't think he's so innocent. He's not. Plain and simple.

fruits of revolution without the pain and process of it.

While I can agree with that, what exactly do you mean by 'revolution?'

True democracy? Is that it?

Nothing's going to change for the common man if the corrupt as F bureaucracy is intact. And a political leader - no matter how he or she came into power - can do squat about those old bureaucrats sitting on their phat arse all day, cashing in pay cheques after pay cheques, for doing squat.

Once they get old, a stream of money in the name of "pension" comes their way and their kids replace the ol' pops. Point is, our departments are semi-nepotistic!

While I partially agree with your views, you need to wake up and see the real picture. If you want to revolutionize Pakistan, start by privatizing government sectors. Cut 'em loose and start over.

  • Jahangir Tareen, Aleem Khan being contacted.
  • Possibilities of seat adjustment with PPP and PML-N.
  • Party will try to win at least 15 to 20 seats in the NA.
Former leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) — who defected from the party — are preparing to form a new political party and have started negotiations, sources told Geo News Saturday.

According to sources, some eminent politicians from Central and South Punjab are likely to join the new party. Jahangir Tareen, Aleem Khan and people from the Chaudhry Sarwar group are being contacted, they said.

“The new party will contest in elections with a new election symbol, and there are possibilities of seat adjustment of the new party with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N)," the sources noted.

The sources said that the dissident group would comprise PTI defectors and it will eye winning 40 to 45 seats in the Punjab Assembly and 15 to 20 seats in the National Assembly.

Preparations for launching the new party consisting of defected members of PTI are underway. A series of contacts and meetings for the consultation of its formation under the leadership of the former PTI leaders and other political parties have also started.

The new party will be led by a prominent former leader of PTI from Punjab, and will field its candidates in the strong constituencies of PTI in the province.

The divide

Both Aleem and Tareen had been two of the most prominent PTI leaders in the PTI’s early years, especially during its rise to power in 2018. Internal differences, however, got in the way with Tareen first and then Aleem parted ways with the PTI chief.

In May 2022, the former prime minister revealed the reason behind his differences with both leaders and said that both were seeking “illegal benefits from him.”

Speaking during a podcast, Khan claimed that differences with both estranged leaders developed when he refused to entertain their requests.

“Aleem Khan expected me to legalise his 300-acre land near Ravi”, Khan said, adding “from then onwards, I developed differences with him.”

While talking about Tareen, khan said: “Tareen stood with those who are the biggest dacoits in the country. When I ordered a probe into the matter [sugar scandal], differences developed with Tareen.”
