Agree with the analysis of the speaker lets analyze the aspects of the subject without which the topic remains incomplete.
When you talk about start of the proxy wars, you must voice about end result of proxies as well. The beginning of the proxy war is much easier but its end is more deadly as compared to conventional war. Conventional wars are state controlled and you can disengage with the intervention of global community and control further damage. But in case of proxies and especially religious proxies the end result is not controllable. The people you train today, the narrative a state is developing in one time frame, will take control of the situation and end result.

@Horus

Interesting. I think there is no common factor that binds these proxies wars as each dynamic is differant although without doubt these type of wars are always very messy without clear lines to demarcate. The dynamic of each proxy war will also decide if these are successful or not.

Proxies war's have been around for a long time. I would also include the Arab revolt led by Lawrence of Arabia against the Ottoman Turks as a good example of early proxy war. It could be argued of course that the Arab revolt was not a proxy war but I regard it as such because Arabs were manipulated by outside power ( Britain ) to fight their war, which of course they did.

Very good initiative. Appreciate it!!

Meh!

This Zain guy is trying too hard to look cool. I mean what's with the hand gestures? you're not hosting a nigger weed party for god's sake.
