Protests in Indian Kashmir on world rights day

That is because of armed insurgency from across the border. blame for these casualties goes to them. And most of these people are terrorists who don't even belong the this land.

India don't any law that violates basic human rights. mind you, both pak and china do have such laws. And lathicharge- mob controlling is practiced in pak too right? what wrong in that? pictures cannot be used as proof of so called 'indian atrocities'..
Srinagar, December 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the High Court Bar Association held a seminar at Sadder Court in Srinagar to mark the World Human Rights Day, today.

The seminar was addressed among others by the Bar President, Mian Abdul Qayoom, G N Shaheen, Nazir Ahmad Ronga, Dr Altaf Hussian, Professor Hamida Nayeem, Dr Abdul Majeed Zargar, Z G Mohammad, Zaheeruddin, Perveena Ahangar and Pervez Amroz.

The speakers said that India had usurped the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination. They said that Indian police and troops were committing gross human rights violations in the occupied territory with impunity. They appealed to the world community to come forward to stop massacre of Kashmiris and pressurize India to give the Kashmiri people a chance to decide their fate by themselves.

A 10th class student, Farhana Shahid, who read out a paper on the occasion, said that the children had developed fear psychosis after the killings of young boys and students in 2008 and 2010 by Indian police and troops in the occupied territory. She said that on one side they stand faced killings and arrests while on the other side due to the huge military presence their education was at stake.

A resolution passed during the seminar demanded an end to human rights violations and curbs on Hurriyet leadership, withdrawal of Indian troops and repeal of draconian laws in the occupied territory. It urged the world community to play an effective role in resolving the Kashmir dispute for ensuring peace and stability in the region.
the school going children are also armed insurgents for you:hitwall:

Protest of Govt (IOK) worked? Army clearly rejected them...
But ! We never seen any high level protest from other parts of India for Kashmiris....Or Voilations are part of constitution in a Secular states?

Which other parts are you implying. Representatives from all states sit in Delhi. If they can hear the protest from Kashmir govt, they can act provided the Kashmir govt gives evidence. But unfortunately pak has admitted to meddling in Kashmir...So the protest will seem weak when Politicians take into account the Safety of Indian People.

as i said armed insurgency, and foreign funded terrorists are responsible for that, not India..
these all are locals not from Mars . and they want freedom .

Most of these news reports are paid propaganda.. action is taken if police indeed does anything wrong. but paid propaganda from across the border only makes case of real victims weaker..

.
These separatists an their supporters are nothing but hypocrites if they won't speak up for Kashmiri Pandits and ensure their safe return to kashmir.

Being a Chinese, it's no wonder you don't have the basic idea what democracy is

Territorial Integrity & Sovereignty are the corner-stones of any democracy worth its salt.

But again you being a chinese it would be difficult for you to grasp such advanced concepts.

Mind you he is from Hong Kong, a place where democracy is already in place :azn:

You should also read more about Hong Kong's system and its policies. Here let me give you a hint, search: "一国两制" and use google translate if you must.

i just posted about the APNA forum from kashmir that you said you don't know about. I just pointed out that they exist.

Refusing the accept the video as genuine or not is your wish.

What i am trying to say is that India and Pakistan, both are at fault. It was none of our business to interfere in their nation. Yet one invaded the state while the other took advantage of the stuation and gained control over it's territories.

P.S : When you people talk about kashmir, does it relate to the valley only??

.
I dont think violent protest will benefit kasmiris in any ways mostly it will worsen the case.
Condition of todays Kashmir is due to the support of insurgencies by Pakistan. No govt of any country would love to deploy huge millitary in small location where there is no problem. You people should understand by doing all this u r worsning the situation of kasmiris
All know on point of gun no country can take a single inch of land from India.only way to solve the problem is by talk.

India loves to say they are the "largest democracy in the world".

India is the largest democracy , its a fact .

However, they promised the Kashmiri people a referendum... and they have proven it to be a LIE, since they refuse to allow the Kashmiris to vote for their own self-determination.

Yes we did promise , and we had our conditions for it :

http://archives-trim.un.org/webdrawer/rec/423508/view/Items-in-Peace-keeping%20operations%20-%20Indi~ispute%20by%20the%20UN%20Representative%20Frank%20P.%20Graham,%20with%20Thirteen%20Annexes%20Appended.PDF.

Unless they are met , no progress can be made from our side.

China is not a democracy, but India is. How shameful that shining democratic India refuses to honour it's promise to let the Kashmiri people have a referendum, .

The point is not about democracy here, but about basic human rights :

The right to self-determination, a fundamental principle of human rights law,(1) is an individual and collective right to "freely determine . . . political status and [to] freely pursue . . . economic, social and cultural development." (2) The principle of self-determination is generally linked to the de-colonization process that took place after the promulgation of the United Nations Charter of 1945.

Understanding Self-Determination: The Basics

In short , Since China and India are part of UN ,both must adhere to its values, In fact as PRC considered itself the rightfull representative of the China which was the founding fathers of the UN.Its upto China to set herself as an example by making an effort in Tibet , Xinjiang etc.
