KARACHI: Angry demonstrators burn two buses on Abul Hassan Isphahani Road on Saturday after unknown motorcycle attackers injured two officials of Pasban-e-Aza, DawnNews reported.

Despite of loud claims of the police on security arrangements of the violence-ridden city, the menace of “target killings” was again raising its head.

Two unknown motorcycle attackers opened fire on officials of Pasban-e-Aza (Shia mourning organisation) in Gulshan-i-Iqbal neighbourhood which injured Askari Raza and Ali Mehdi.

Both the injured were taken to a nearby private hospital.

According to police, attackers were also got injured in a retaliatory fire from the car of the officials. “we have started search for the culprits,” said a police official.

Earlier on Friday, unknown motorcycle attackers killed Dr Saleem Kharal of Jinnah Hospital.

It’s important to note that three people have become the victim of targeted killings this week including a doctor and a religious scholar.

Unkown terrorists, on December 27, also killed Mufti Abdul Samad Soomro in Gulbahar and chief of Sajjadia Scouts Nayyar Zaidi in Orangi Town.

Later on, one of the injured Askari Raza succumbed to his wounds in a local hospital

yes and the legitimate way was to go file a report in the local police station...and go to local peoples representative such as MNA or MPA and ask them to keep an eye on police investigation.
Burning peoples hard earned property which may well he the poor persons only source of income is by no means legit...its just wrong.

No one is running from anything, like many other cities in the Subcontinent, Karachi also suffers from Ethnic, Religious and Sectarian tensions. But here when mercifully no loss of life occurred, the whole issue is blown out of proportions.

Its not a non-issue. Rather, it is the very heart of it.
