It's like celebrating the achievements of a retarded child!

That is very offensive to those of us who have such children in our family. Please, everyone be a little sympathetic when you talk. You might offend someone. Also you could very well be born with the same defects as these "retarded children."

Pakistan is in a lot of trouble economically. It does not matter how the ruling government sugar coats things to make it appear they have pulled Pakistan out of poverty.

Compare our progress to South Korea. It had a gdp per capita of 2,300 even in 1980 which is less than Pakistan's gdp per capita. It is over 30,000 now. So when we failed to take the chance and develop to our potential then we should blame the politicians and leaders of Pakistan. They ruined the country. There are many examples around the world of countries that have lifted themselves out of poverty. We are one of those countries stuck in one place for such a long period.

Japan, Turkey, South Korea and Taiwan were behind Pakistan in the 1950's. Where are they now?

We have been in permanent relative decline since the day we were created.

We have been in decline. Admitting this is not a fault but a first step in correcting the situation. How can we ever solve a problem when we do not even accept its existence. It is my dream to see a prosperous Pakistan though.
