Privatization of PIA

This isnt exactly lockheed martin lol, sell it, it has no tech that can benefit the nation.
It’s about the principal of the matter. This is a never ending cycle. Every state own service or institution is going down this route. There should be a public outcry over why things are mis-managed

PTCL should be totally sell.

Also Pakistan Railway and Wapda.

Too much corruption there.

Total Failed Department...
Just keep selling public institutions and companies? Mismanagement is the goal of the people that want to make money.

They want to make way for their own private interests, and to have public celebrate handing off control.

Who will provide oversight of private companies do you want to outsource that too

Railway aur Private AC Buses ko hi dekh lo,
Pakistani Train main awam bhairrr, bakriyoo ki tarah hoti hai

PTCL 4 MB ka net bhi stable nahi,
aur Private 20 MB ka net bhi stable hota hai, wo bhi half fees main.
PTCL band ho gaya to Internet competition bharry ga, un ko mauqa milay ga.
Land Line aur Mobile rates dekh lo

kuch bhi ho jaye yeh idaray chalnay waly nahi.

WAPDA mein corruption itna hai, k jab tak rishwat na do, meter hi nahi lagta, demand notice hi nahi milta, over billing ka issue alag hai.

Main to kehta hon k govt college, univerities, school bhi band ker denay chahiye, jub ziada private schools aye gay to competition bharrhay ga. govt school college teachers bus salary letay rahtay hain. sirf wohi number letay hain jo tution letay hain

Can’t sell these businesses without making some arrests first

They want to make way for their own private interests, and to have public celebrate handing off control.

PTCL is already partially privatized, and that happened after privatization

On the contrary. PIA a has a lot of issues and still has customers that pay premium prices. Flying in PIA isn’t cheap at all. There are minor fixes that have been overlooked because people just aren’t doing their job. Pakistani customers fill Emirates and Qatar airways it won’t be hard get those pre-existing customer base to fly PIA with fixes.

Almost every government owned business and institution is going through similar issues. The fix is to fix the system, and to hold the corrupt responsible.
Qatar isn't that great either. Just regular level of somewhat efficient managment has Qatar dominate airlines business.

How the **** did every institution deteriorate so fast in Pakistan?

They were run professionally by competent people up till the 80's at least, and then suddenly hardly any of these guys could even type in fluent English

Even now many of the projects intimated simple grammar mistakes are very common

The danger is anyone who buys it and is competing against it, will cannibalize it and sell off the most valuable assets and shit down the company.

What’s the incentive for them to invest to build it back up to be profitable. Will they be able to get assurances from the “government” that can endure for 10,15,20 years, which maybe the amount of time it may take to buy planes and run them all the way to maximize the profit.

Nokia is not bankrupt or dead. Their phone is no longer that big but they have other products. However there were expectation the Finnish government would bail them out like the American government does to its banks. Just the fact that this was an expectation should show you how much private companies rely on government bailouts.

In my opinion the business argument for PIA is easy. Corruption makes it impossible, but once it’s privatized there are no guarantees and if that goes under it will be a long time until the hopefuls come replace it in every ways.

PIA’s biggest issue is negligence.
