Although many in
Pakistan fail to make both ends meet despite strenuous efforts but there exist some notables in the same state who own
private jets for travelling.
According to the Nation, many influential politicians and businessmen are operating their own private planes worth millions of rupees.
“These people to get their personal jobs done offer their private planes to rulers and their families for air travel. Top bureaucrats and politicians often use these planes for travel within
Pakistan and abroad as well,” Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) sources said on condition of anonymity.
The influential people who own private planes include Mubashir Lucman, Malik Riaz, Mian Muhammad Mansha, Chaudhry Munir, Makhdoom Ahmad Mehmood, Jahangir Tareen, Z Iqbal and Fatima Fertilizer.
A CAA officer said that normally these aircrafts fly at speed of 500 to 550 km per hour and operational cost of every plane is US $ 1000 per hour.
Makhdoom Ahmad Mehmood, former Governor Punjab, owns PA-46 Piper Matrix while Mian Muhammad Mansha owns three planes, G-200 Gulfstream plane, Beech 200 Super King Air and G-150 plane.
Real estate tycoon, Malik Riaz owns three aircrafts including one Hawker 400, Hawker 4000 and a helicopter AW139.
Senior anchor and media personality Mubashir Lucman also admitted to own two personal jets in a television talkshow.
Ch. Munir is owner of three aircrafts including Cessna Citation B-550, CJ 3 and G-150. It is worth mentioning that his son Raheel Munir recently got married to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's grand daughter.
Lastly, Fatima fertilizer (business conglomerate in Pakistan) has one aircraft Challenger W 604.
