President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will meet with Russian Foreign and Defense Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Sergei Shweigo on Monday at the presidential headquarters in Heliopolis. The meeting will discuss bilateral issues between the two countries and means of enhancing them, in addition to consultation on the situation in Syria, Libya and Yemen, and combating terrorist organizations.
And media from Moscow: Armament deals worth $ 4 billion

I guess the K-52 Katran and Mistral full equipments are in this deal..+?

@Gomig-21 , @EgyptianAmerican

So this is a new arms deal for $4B? If that's the case, it could very well include the Katran tender. If they bought the 2 carriers, it only makes sense to throw some helicopters on them, otherwise it was silly to buy them, as cheap as they were. The only thing with Russians is we never get full disclosure on the details of the deals, unlike with Western deals where they include every tool and battery that comes with the purchase.

I think so, Equipping the Mistrals will cost at least $1 billion, 32 Katrans will cost let's say another over a billion dollars, so let's say ~$2 billion.. either there will be the 29 SU-XX (around $2 billion) or an S-400 system (also around $2 billion depending on the number of batteries).. or it might be completely something else we are not aware of!!!
Talks will most likely include the Tourism bans, and the nuclear reactors deal..

You might be on to something with that, there, my friend. This could very well be a big part of this whole thing.
The $4 billion is an arms deal..
The Nuclear project is a $20 billion deal financed entirely by Russia, it will be paid over a 25 years period after it becomes operational, it includes training and..and..and a lot of ToT..

I meant discussing the nuclear project could very well be part of this meeting since it's been a big ticket item talked about. This arms deal seems like a mystery, but we can at least assume the Mistrals equipment and even the Katran tender could very well be part of this deal but I really hope no Su.............35! :-)

Some Russian news outlets say that the deal is old and some components of it have been delivered and some are on their way.., don't know who to believe..
The Nuclear Plant deal is done, missing one last signature..(apparently), I heard the deal was sealed a year ago though..

Why you do not like the SU-35?

That's all that's needed to finalize the Plant deal? Man, you are on top of things! :-)

It's not that I don't like the aircraft itself, it's formidable, no question, it's just that I'd like to see the EAF not get back into the mishmash of different variants of aircraft like they've had in the past, now that they've committed to the MiG-29M/M2. I'd like to see them go for more Rafales, being that aircraft is superb and compatible with the EAF legacy fighter in the F-16. It's avionics are superior to anything in the EAF inventory and if the Air Force wants to be a decent air force and more net-centric compatible, it should stick to more of what it has the most of and not introduce another, different system and make the ultimate goal be one of the 5th gens out there. Start getting in on that and the Russian one would be the ideal choice at this point. Since they've committed to the MiGs, then either stick with more of them or more Rafales (which would be the better option) since 24 is not a large number by any means, or even get the actual MiG-35 with will have the AESA radar and some more trinkets in it than the 29M. It just doesn't make practical sense to have that diversity which is what has hampered the EAF for the past 40 years. No knock on the Su-35. They should've chose that instead of the 29 if they were thinking about it but don't add it now. That's all.

The SU-35 is the higher tier of the MIG-35 they go hand in hand, The SU-35 is the big boy, like what the F-15 is to the F-16..I do agree with you that Egypt should get more Rafale, at least the optional 12, but better yet another 24.. but think about the price! IMHO, Egypt bought the Rafale to lead the F-16s that misses the AESA radar and long range BVR missile among other things, so each Rafale might be assigned to a squadron of F-16s like what we just saw in the last operation in Libya, or might work alone just between Rafales for SEAD for instance, depending on the mission's parameters..The SU-35 acts as a mini AWACS on top of its huge payload and very sophisticated electronics, it can lead and manage the Mig-35s, while insuring air superiority.. this baby has the Khibiny EW system that is the equivalent of the Rafale SPECTRA.. Looks like Egypt wants the best of two worlds, the East and the West..
But I agree with you that the problem is that it creates a logistics nightmare.. As not only you need the aircraft but spare parts, weapons, support vehicles, etc... which are not always interchangeable, especially if you are mixing Russian and Western technology.
