* Says he has serious differences with Law Minister Farooq Naek and other members

ISLAMABAD: Justice (r) Fakhruddin G Ebrahim on Monday quit the committee formed by the ruling coalition to prepare a framework for restoration of the sacked judges.
I have decided to separate myself from the legal committee, because I have serious differences with other members of the committee, particularly Farooq H Naek, Ebrahim told Daily Times. He said he had reservations on the issues being discussed by the committee because those issues were not included in the Murree Declaration. Ask Mr Naek, why I am not sitting in the committee, he said to a question.
But Naek said he was not aware of Ebrahims decision. I do not know about Fakhruddin G Ebrahims decision to quit the committee. The committee has been tasked to deliberate on how to restore the judges in accordance with the Murree Declaration and subsequent notification for their restoration, and at the same time retaining the incumbent Supreme Court judges.
The other members of the committee are: Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Aitzaz Ahsan, Barrister Abdul Hafeez Pirzada, Senator Raza Rabbani and advocate Khawaja Haris.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif had announced the formation of the committee on Friday after two days of talks with Pakistan Peoples Party Co-chairman Asif Zardari in Dubai.
According to Murree Declaration, the judges had to be restored before April 30, but the date was extended to May 12 because the two parties could not agree on a framework.
