People like Modi. Indian pm modi also fought in that civil war but couldn't defeat Pakistan. Pakistan lost Bangladesh to India not bangalis.

There are those who believe we lost East Pakistan due to India. Let them think whatever they think. We lost East Pakistan because the people living their stopped supporting us.

At the time of separation there was presidential system with military in power.

Bhutto became PM after the crisis and brought back POW's from India.

There are a lot of people in Pakistan who blame him for 1971 and I too for quite some time believed that. But what I have heard from the military people who were serving at that time and what ever history and different books I have gone through made me change my mind. I doubt Bhutto had any power to influence the events of 1971.

Some of his political stints were dangerous but he lacked power to divide the country.

Even Sheikh Mujeeb was not in favour of separation but some people with real power were hell bent on solving the issue with the use of power and that let to events getting out of control.
