President Erdogan to visit Pakistan next week

.
This is a great opportunity for Pakistan to try to take our relationship with our Turkish brothers and sisters to the next level. With a view to making this relationship as strong as our relationship with China.

Strong relations with every nation and strongest with brotherly nations are need of hour but the sometimes question arises that, we are badly lacking the foreign office strategy and capabilities. The foreign office has to play its role on next level then before and we will see things turning in our favour as it always depends upon strong diplomacy and foreign policy. However, Pakistan-Turkey relations are already on the level that cannot be doubted but the time is already passing by that we may avail the progress of each other for further growth and self-reliance.

Warm welcome to the President.

We need a Turkish Flag smiley here :pakistan:

The Turks are not just allies or friends. They are our brothers and sisters.

. .
Among the muslim countries Turkey is our best ally and a friend. It has always supported us and we should stand beside Turkey as well. Having been to the place I know the love and respect Turks have for Pakistanis. We should work together with them and focus on our commonalities. Also Pakistan can import secularism from Turkey as their secularism is one of the most successful models in the Islamic world.

Erdogan is not secular, he has done much work to bring Turkey back to its Islamic roots.

I don't agree with that last part...

I disagree. The turks follow secularism in full spirit. If you are talking about end of discrimination against mullahs and easing the process of education/employment of hijab wearers that is part of the true secular model. Islam itself is fully compatible with secularism.

As noted by the above and a few years ago by the Egyptians when he advocated for Egyptians to adopt secularism too. Erdogan is a staunch secularist. He similarly follows his religion. Religion and secularism are not two polar opposites. Its our useless Islamist/Mullahistic education that makes us view secularism as a threat even though the first person to advocate it was a muslim named Ibn Rushd. Yet the cancer has spread so far in Pakistan that sects like the mutazilite which are muslim renaisance movements are portrayed as heretical. Secularism is completely compatible with Islam and being less or more religious is no conveyor of how secular a person is.

I don't agree with that last part...
Regardless. I stand by what I said. We have a negative view of secularism so we fail to see where it has been successful. It is the mullahs alone who benefit from the current ultra-religious, orthodox setup and once we realize that all citizens should be equal we will move away from the type of setup we have in Pakistan. Even after years of terrorism some of us fail to realize that the education system and the governance system needs to change into something much more inclusive and much less radical. We have blasphemy laws, hudood laws and a ministry of religious affairs. Something unneeded in a liberal world where the government should have no role in imposing ideology.

how can u openly use gali
like u have just done and get away with this ?

and see more u dont even have a single negative

this speaks a lot of biased and unfair nature

atleast a public platform must be fair,
or else remove all Indians from here
If you think and speak negatively you would get a negative rating.

Once you say some thing also expect to get a reply from someone with an open mind.

There are some debts that you can not pay.....Our debt to Pakistan for their support in our darkest time, is one of them. We consider ourselves forever indebted to our Pakistani brothers.

On a small note....religious or not, all Turks remember and will never forget.

Brothers Don't Talk about Debt :) whatever Pakistan or Turkey did for each other was because they are like 2 Bodies and 1 soul ........................yeah it does get little Awkward hahaha

I hate to burst your bubble, but a lot of us fought for the UK in WW1 and 2, even some people in family did.

Well lets not jump on only your family horse..Their were Muslims recruited from jehlum and surroundings who had a lot of honor ... Ever heard about Singapore mutiny where they killed 40 british officers when they thought they will be sent to fight their ottoman muslim brethren .. and later martyred by british firing squad.. We cared about Ummah :pleasantry:well enough before our country's creation ...So.. . Half glass is empty but other half is full too..
