Presence of Indian forces is harmful to Siachen Glacier: Sartaj Aziz

Published: December 4, 2013
Presence of Indian forces on Siachen Glacier is harmful to the environment according to Advisor to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz,Radio Pakistan reported on Wednesday.

Pakistan is facing a water shortage and Indian forces are damaging one of the largest sources of water to Pakistan on a regular basis‚ Aziz said.

Presence of Indian forces on Siachen is a big issue and should be resolved as soon as possible, Aziz stated insisting that India should pull out its troops from the glacier.

He further added that disposal of daily use items by thousands of Indian soldiers is detrimental to the glacier.

India and Pakistan are working on resolving their water issues, Aziz stated. The two countries are doing this through multiple channels including Pakistan-India composite dialogue and Indus Water Commission.

Aziz also said that water should be properly used in Pakistan‚ it should be conserved and new water reservoirs should be built. He also said ‘Senate has recently formed a committee to deliberate various dimensions of water related issues and suggest its recommendations.’

Ha Ha HA...... So Let Pakistanis stay in Siachen(where Indian troops are stationed) If they have the capability

Both Indian and Pakistani militaries should withdraw from heights of Siachen and surrounding passes.

Its useless to confront each other over there. No strategic value at all.

Pakistan military already holds all the strategic heights, and major strategic population centers located on the heights of Skardu, Gilgit etc. indians are can't even dream to take strategic cities of Kashmir from Pakistan. They are just too weak. So whats the point of all this bullsh!ttry on siachen? Just for some fake pride I guess.

We are willing to. As soon as Pakistan officially accepts India's position.

no matter what....we need a highly fortified highly sophisticated structure at a high altitude over siachin glacier which can station all soldiers in it as well as can guard the whole area(glacier)....

It was pakistan who blocked the demilitarisation of siachen glacier by not agreeing to demarcation of the ground position...

Look who is talking, a walking mummy.

If its such a BS point from strategic point of view for India n also very important for Pakistan's water resources than why don't Pakistan accepts the Official Indian position on Siachin n speed up the demilitarization process.:what:
