Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Central Executive Committee (CEC) has recommended continuing its public movement to topple Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led government besides deciding to strongly protest against the rise in inflation, citing sources, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

The session of PPP CEC is underway in Lahore under the chair of Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari. The session is being attended by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Yousaf Raza Gillani, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Maula Bukhsh Chandio, Qaim Ali Shah, Shazia Marri, Nafisa Shah and other central leaders.

Sources told ARY News that a white paper on the PTI government’s performance was presented in the PPP CEC and federal council by Shazia Marri.

It elaborated the dismal performance of the PTI government in providing relief to the nationals. The CEC members also held consultations over the minimum wage of a labourer and prices of gas and urea.

The opposition party decided to hold strong protests in provincial, national assemblies and the Senate. Moreover, it has been decided to re-organise PPP in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan.

The political party is mulling over the continuation of its anti-government movement by emphasising the rise in inflation. The CEC will also decide on the next strategy of the anti-government movement and the venues of protest demonstrations.

It is expected that PPP CEC will decide on starting contacts with the opposition parties to tighten noose around the PTI government besides mulling over to bring a no-confidence motion.

It may be noted here that the alliance of the opposition parties, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) had backed the stance of PPP for not tendering resignations from the assemblies.

The session’s agenda items also included the preparations regarding the upcoming local government (LG) elections in Punjab and its second phase in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). It is expected that PPP CEC will approve the recommendation to form an alliance or seat adjustments with the Awami National Party (ANP) in KP.

The party’s CEC will approve the recommendations after holding consultations in the session.

PPP ANNOUNCES LONG MARCH TOWARDS ISLAMABAD ON FEB 27

LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday announced that PPP will begin a long march against the incumbent government on February 27, ARY News reported.
Briefing media about decisions of the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting held in Lahore, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari announced that he will lead a long march against the ruling PTI government from Karachi.
“PPP will begin its long march against the incumbent government from Karachi on February 27,” announced Bilawal Bhutto.

While talking about Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) planned long march to Islamabad, the PPP chief said: “PDM did not consult with PPP before announcing Islamabad long march. Our long march will be separate from PDM’s inflation march.”
The PPP chief also demanded immediate “free and fair” general elections in the county. He also slammed ruling PTI over rising inflation in the country and recently tabled Finance Supplementary Bill, 2021 – generally known as mini-budget.
“PPP will register its protest over anti-people mini-budget inside and outside the parliament,” said Bilawal.
Bilawal Bhutto also urged Supreme Court to set aside its stay order from a minimum wage bill of Rs25,000.
It emerged yesterday that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Central Executive Committee (CEC) had recommended continuing its public movement to topple Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led government besides deciding to strongly protest against the rise in inflation.
The session of PPP CEC was held in Lahore under the chair of Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari. The session was attended by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Yousaf Raza Gillani, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Maula Bukhsh Chandio, Qaim Ali Shah, Shazia Marri, Nafisa Shah and other central leaders.

It emerged that PPP CEC will decide on starting contacts with the opposition parties to tighten noose around the PTI government besides mulling over to bring a no-confidence motion.
It may be noted here that the PPP’s long march announcement comes a month after Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), the multi-party opposition alliance, had announced that it will kick off its long march towards Islamabad on March 23.
JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman – who is also the head of the Pakistan Democratic Movement– announced the date while briefing media about decisions taken in the hours-long meeting held in Islamabad on Dec 6.
Flanked by other opposition leaders, the JUI-F chief said that PDM’s ‘Mehangai’ march or inflation march against the incumbent government would start on March 23.

They are keen to take credit for the work done by IK. They will carry it on for not even a couple of months until everyone stops paying attention and back to corruption. You let them back in and they will f**k you very hard, harder than last time.

I agree with you the mafia running Sindh has no sympathy for the downtrodden who are living in abject poverty.

It really does make my heart sink to see our children like that. 220 million is not a large population, it's manageable. There should be social services to provide homes for children living in bad conditions. No child should be in poverty or homeless.

Simple things like this can be done which can make such a huge impact. It won't even cost a lot of money. Certainly will cost less than their corruption. In the manner PPP behave they think they are kings of Sindh, the feel like they own this province and are still behaving like a colonial puppet, happy with the power, screw everyone else, I will siphon off as much money as I can. How long have they been in power? They have had decades to make an impact.

PMLN behave in the same way however Punjabis are a lot more forward thinking and are willing to give someone else a try. Sindh is stuck in the dark ages it seems. Karachi which should have been a wealthy port city makes Manila look like New York. It's embarrassing Karachi doesn't have a well built financial district that is clean, with pavements and skyscrapers. It's just one big slum at the moment, where is the revenue going?

The same can be said for Punjab, do you know how much money Punjabis make, a lot of them are very rich. Why doesn't Lahore have a financial district? Why does it still look like djibouti?

Every country has districts like these. Even Philippines can do it below and I've been there, it's so poor.

Just once in my life I want to land in Karachi or Lahore and uber it in to the city center and check in. Walk around a well built clean place with wide pavements and good looking buildings , civilized looking people going to their jobs, and grab a starbucks and sit on a bench. No I don't want to go into a dirty back alley and eat a deep fried burger with no concept of hygiene. I do not see the charm in that

18th amendment should be abolished and army needs to go in to do a clean up OP. Remove all political elements and their militias and their sectarian mullahs on their payroll.
