LAHORE: The electricity impasse has grown grave in country following the crisis of water, gas and oil surfaced. The power shortfall has reached above 3000 megawatt per day, Geo News reported Wednesday.
Power outages for long hours continue in country. Meanwhile, the Pepco is already facing shortage of water and gas, leaving powerhouses and plants to generate power sans full capacity.
Pepco officials said the electricity generation is 10,000 megawatt with demand keep getting high. The power demand is 14,000 megawatt a day.
Pepco has also proposed government the closure of commercial areas at 8pm and twice holiday a week so as 1000 megawatt of electricity could be saved.
Trade bodies have strongly opposed Pepcos advice.
