She could have but there was a little problem , no vacancy boards are everywhere in Punjab. And I feel pity for you & your thoughts on doing household works like washing utensils in others homes by a educated person. She was selected on merit in Elementry Teacher Training (ETT)course. ETT teachers are agitating from last few years for jobs promised by govt. On the other hand there is big shortage of teachers in govt. schools. Although I agree that suicide is not the answer of problems.

I feel pity for you and your thoughts that you feel doing household work is beneath your dignity. If there is no job then throughout ages people have taken up whatever work that comes their way. That is what honest people with integrity do. If she is a qualified teacher, then there are lots of them who give tuition and make a living.

Shortage of workers lolzz ,lady you are totally unaware of situtation in Punjab. Punjab has shortage of industry due to high taxes not of workers

This English education system has corrupted the minds of Indians so much, even a third class pass person who cannot formulate a sentence properly or draft a letter wants to become an officer and wants a govt job. Every other work is beneath them.

The same educated person from Punjab will be willing to work as a janitor or taxi driver abroad. Then the matter of being educated does not come in to picture.

Excellent post. Juggernautjatt is a perfect example of what is wrong with Punjab.

He finds shame in doing honest labour but finds no shame in being a free loader.

He finds it convenient to blame the BJP+Congress+Akalis and what not; rather than blame the mentality of people like him who fill up punjab.

He would rather see a nations full of beggars and a nation full of "educated" losers than a nation full of poor who work hard scrubbing somebody else's vessels.

If such a culture will not give rise to Alcohol and Drug culture, I don't know what will. The same is true for kerala too ........thankful they have stopped at Alcohol. Not having a pakistan at your border has made drug availability low.


But his worst performance was to use this tragedy to score political points. A classic AAP supporter a.k.a AAPtard.

It is the government who is making people lazy by providing free wheat & pulses( Atta Dal scheme of Pb. Govt) instead of employment. Government is wasting money on distributing freebies like food & free power for their vote bank politics. On the other hand every state govt. department is facing staff shortage. Accept it or not but it is a clear fact that focus of govt. is on distributing freebies or buying luxury items for its ministers instead of using peoples money on girl education & employment. I still not understand on what grounds you are giving government clean chit & holding only people responsible for their hardships.

You can't compare bhaiya farm labours with educated unemployed. By the way bhaiyas coming to punjab is thing of past , nowdays because of coming of modern farm machinery & MNREGA job scheme available in bihar bhaiyas are avoiding punjab.
You are also comparing Punjab with abroad which is illogical. Punjabis work their as a janitor or taxi driver because these type of jobs helps them in fine earning. But here people suffer lots of exploitation in small jobs.
Now lets talk about industry in Punjab , 177 factories have closed down during the 2011-12 fiscal showing a decline of industry in the state. Most of factories are shifting in Haryana or Baddi area in Himachal. Tax rates in Punjab are high because govt. is facing cash shortage due to its irrational policies.

Yeah, everything should be done by govt only. What are you people there for then? Your farmers want free electricity. Your people want free wheat and pulses. Someone earlier in the thread wanted free transport. Someone else mentioned girl education is free. After getting everything free, you will crib about corruption. Govt does not want to hire more teachers and staff because govt school teacher absenteeism are legendary. Plus throughout their lives they have to paid pension and other benefits. Govt coffers are empty because of this culture of freeloading. You want more and more govt in everything?

Why can I not compare Bhiyas with unemployed Punjabis? The bhaiya at least is willing to work for his living and make something of himself unlike the drug addicted good for nothing unemployed Punjabi. Drugs ke liye paise aa jathi hai.

Why where does the question of status go when you are a janitor abroad? You feel ashamed to do labor here? Then it becomes a question of status. What fine living as a janitor abroad? They live like rats 10 to 14 people in a single house.

The Punjab state govt is broke because of this culture of freebies. Where is it going to get money from if not taxes. Tell your farmers not to expect free electricity. Tell your people not to expect free wheat and pulses. Tell your people not to expect free transport and free. Get free of this addiction to muftkhori. Then why would the govt just tax companies out of Punjab.

Silly people want the govt to change their diapers until they are 30+ years old. Then they will do meherbani by working for some 15-20 years by which time they will get diseases which they expect the govt to treat freely at state expense. By the time they retire they want govt to provide them with pension for the rest of their lives. For these lordships and their tax contribution of 20 years and, the govt should take care of them for a total of 50-60 years. Bozos.

Modi giving his salary away was not a sign of good governance. It was a sign of a very charitable person doing charity. Governance is not charity. Not everyone get the jobs they are qualified for everywhere in the world. There are enough software engineers in USA who crib that they do not get jobs over the Indians who they blame for taking jobs away. Whereas the companies say the Indians are better qualified than the American SW workers. Canada is full of doctors and accountants and PhD driving taxi. So is Australia. So is New Zealand. You do not go and complain in those countries that you do not get a job you are qualified for but do whatever is available. Labor class in India is surviving. All states have labor class. Only Punjab seems to have grown too big and mighty and earned the right to look down on everyone else.

Unlike you I haven't "wasted" my education. It provides me with a VERY good income and social status. That being said I do not look down on elbow grease.

However for most people education represents a means to maximise opportunities, not an ticket to a free meal of a lazy good for nothing life.

A person is "qualified" for a role when the person takes responsibility and is ready to put in the efforts required to make it successful. His being qualified represents a basic level of competence that will let him do that job most efficiently. "efficiently" means less money and less time.

Most times his educational qualification means nothing since the quality of most Indian graduates is questionable. More importatly they learn no skill during their "education" that make then unqualified for most work.

Everybody suffers "exploitation". That is the way of the world. Only the Lazy and the incompetent make a big issue out of it. Most people learn early in life that life's not fair.

Before calling others blind, make sure your eyes are open.
