Cold Weather Mountain US Marines getting ready. A mini surge; although if true, may only have short lived effects, as previously. If they cross the border, then the PA and Frontier Corps have a crisis about to start. Any word on this about to go down?

I can totally expect a small operation of sorts from u.s in which they can easily frame Pakistani for housing the Taliban.
Things can then go on further.
This move would be very popular in afghanistan and they know pakistan would make a lot of noise but have no guts to do anything. Even if they close the supply lines, they can easily be worked to open them.

All of which would be futile in the end, as negotiations are only solution to a difference of interests between parties.
What could the PA or FC do in such an event. They probably haven't considered it seriously, but these mummers from commandant commanders could give higher ups the wrong idea, and the PA high command needs to dissuade them of any notions before its too late.

Firstly, Pakistani political as well as military stance has changed so such a step would result in a disaster. Secondly, 300 marines is an occupying force, not an assault force which would take action and then exit.

300 marines are barely an assault force when you consider towns like miranshah. with air cover overhead, One element would take the airfield just north of the town. fire bases are mere miles over the board and gps guided Excalibur artillery rounds would provide real time cover to troop movement. the rest of the force would divide into five elements and move into the town from the outskirts. in a couple of days they would have control the town. after doing what they want, they would use the air strip to hop back over to khost. mission over
