Possibilities of Virtual Reality in military training

.
This tech would have some really good military training possibilities

Indeed. If actually used in military training, you can use actual firing ranges/grounds, and make training apps that are tailored to that particular area (terrain formations etc.). These apps can then be sourced by building upon existing new-gen game engines like Unreal Engine 4 or Frostbite series, or then any other engine capable enough.

Such grounds would eliminate the need to stand in that medieval torture device-looking contraption.

Something related that might have great applications for the military :

For static surfaces & objects, tech like what Euclideon is developing is great for developing photo-realistic environments, great for SWAT house-clearing training & the like.

I'm planning on buying the HTC Vive VR. My current PC has only the AMD FX8350, compatible with HTC. It isn't compatible for Oculus. Bummer.

HTC = $799
Oculus = $599

Gotta buy a new card though. Thinking of AMD R9 390X = $400 in the US, $600 in India. Nvidia cards are shit expensive. Modi needs to start Make in India for high end cards and processors. :P

So I suppose I gotta buy both from the US. That's $1200 down the drain + taxes. Gotta tell my friend there to get it for me.

Crossing my fingers for Doom and Deus EX VR support.

Where the F is BMD?
