"Popeye" and "Slam-Er" Precision Guided Missiles...

Sir just a thought, if we can make babur & Raad type cruise missiles, how much difficult it would be to make a JSOW??

"Standoff missiles are missiles used against land-based targets in an offensive operation; their main goal is to break an opponent's defensive line and push them back. Often, a stand-off missile is also a short-range ballistic missile"

By this definition Raad cruise missile can also be called a JSOW.

As per reports PAF has ordered more then 400+ Raad cruise missile, which all can't be used for nuclear attack role, most of them would be used as JSOW.

By this reasoning Babur is a Tomahawk and vice versa.

Consider JSOW to be a 'registered trademark'

Someone specifically mentions a US weapon called JSOW by its official designation AGM 154. There is no accidental confusion with a Pakistani stand off weapon.

LOL if i were you i wont really bother too much with Wikipeedia.. please google AGM-154 pakistan air force... i do know that Bush arrived in pakistan with a gift for musharraf which was this baby..

Well, I already googled "AGM-154"with "Pakistan" and found mainly references on Pakistani and other regional fora. No references e.g. from the AGM-154 manufacturer, US government, internationally established defence websites (e.g. Janes).

Also, note that my first link is from such an established defence professionals website and it does not list Pakistan as a customer. But, its a february 2006 article ...

So, I'ld be interested if you have a good link to a good source (no fora!) to validate that PAF has acquired JDAM from the US.

Meanwhile, this from DEAGEL
In April 2006 (4/6/2006) Raytheon received the first JSOW international procurement contract on behalf of Turkey through the foreign military sales (FMS) program. The contract was issued by the US Naval Air Systems Command. Turkey was purchasing both AGM-154C equipped with Broach warhead and AGM-154A-1 equipped with the BLU-111 warhead to be integrated into its F-16 aircraft.

In late August 2006, Raytheon was awarded a modification contract worth $11.3 million for the supply of 50 AGM-154A-1, 54 AGM-154C, one AGM-154 dummy air training missile, and 150 containers. These missiles were ordered on behalf of the government of Turkey and the contract completion was slated for April 2008.
