Is Pakistan is willing to buy weapons from Israel? The AGM-142 is the U.S. Air Force designation for the Israeli Popeye air-to-surface standoff missile. In the late 1980s, the Israeli company Rafael developed the Popeye missile. Production of the missile began in 1989. In 1988, Popeye was selected by the USAF for the Have Nap program to improve the non-nuclear capabilities of the B-52G/H. The Air Force designated the missile as AGM-142A and assigned the name Raptor. However, the latter had to be dropped after the same name had been selected for the F-22 (now F/A-22) Advanced Technology Fighter, and the AGM-142 is now generally known by the program name Have Nap. The Have Nap became operational with the USAF in 1992.

Besides - if we are to believe this - "Israeli Harpi, Popeye, Russian + Indian Missiles .. not working according to specs"

As for SLAM-ER, South Korea was the first export customer (2001). Turkey has followed suite. AFAIK, that's it for exports. It should tell you something.

As of January 2009, Raytheon has produced about 3,650 JSOWs of all variants for the USAF, US Navy, and foreign customers in Australia, Greece, Poland, Singapore, and Turkey. About 3,425 of these weapons were for various branches of the American armed forces. Finland has also requested the weapon, and a small contract is in the works.

These do not list Paksitan as a JSOW (AGM-154) customer/operator. Perhaps there is some confusion with JDAM, for which Pakistan is listed as operator?

Sir just a thought, if we can make babur & Raad type cruise missiles, how much difficult it would be to make a JSOW??

"Standoff missiles are missiles used against land-based targets in an offensive operation; their main goal is to break an opponent's defensive line and push them back. Often, a stand-off missile is also a short-range ballistic missile"

By this definition Raad cruise missile can also be called a JSOW.

As per reports PAF has ordered more then 400+ Raad cruise missile, which all can't be used for nuclear attack role, most of them would be used as JSOW.

popeye is made in israel if im not wrong.

Yups, initially made by Israel, and now being manufactured in USA as AGM-142 Have Nap.

SLAM ER is an american one, just to add.

n May 1997, Israel and Turkey signed an agreement valued in excess of US $500 million for the establishment of a joint-venture between Israel's Rafael and Turkey's Turkish Aerospace Industries for the co-production of Popeye I and Popeye II missiles in Turkey
