The last pope to have visited Pakistan was Pope John Paul II in February 1981.

Pope Francis has accepted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's invitation to visit Pakistan this year, a media reported said on Thursday.

According to a message received on Wednesday from the Vatican, the invitation was extended by Ports and Shipping Minister Kamran Michael and Religious Affairs Minister Sardar Yusuf, Dawn online reported.

Micheal led a high-level delegation for Rome to meet Pope Francis at the Vatican City on February 23.

The highest Catholic priest also offered special prayers for Pakistan and the Pakistanis who have fallen victim to terrorism.

The last pope to have visited Pakistan was Pope John Paul II in February 1981. Christians make up for 1.6 per cent of Pakistan's population, which accounts for about 2.8 million people.

. . .
Expect some terrorist (which make up 20% of the population) to want to create a ruckus at some "Isiayi" coming in.

When you are going to start military operation against them?
As per You, we got roughly 20 Million Terrorists in our country.................. doesn't it prove the claims that we are HUB of Terrorism ? Lets start operation against all of them, since they are too many, how about considering nuclear option? Lets get rid of all of them once for all and Nuke ourselves.............

NS is trying to become a visionary leader. i would love to see NAB tightening noose around his neck by that time.

.
The picture i posted above is the current armored popemobile...quite suitable for Pakistan visit.
He will meet with minorities, some eminent political and social personalities. and ofcourse our leadership.
At best he might address parliament ,.......... but public speech or public tour is not possible........... even in a bullet proof car behind a bullet proof screen................

I think that will be wonderful. It has been too long since we have had the honour of hosting the pope and I am sure the local Catholic population will be absolutely elated at the prospect of seeing the Pope visit them.

One more thing he will request P.M & President to pardon Asia Bibi....for sure 100% and Govt will do the same...after that as @Oscar said so call 20 % will create big mess and for one Asia bibi we may lose 100s citizens and billions of rupees in damages...Pope's visit will not bring anything good but creates more divide and unrest in the society, even will put bad impact on Zarb-e-Azab and its support.

We hung Qadri, we're on a roll. If local trouble makers threaten to create a scene then the answer is not to cower in fear and become the neighborhood recluse. The state of Pakistan has to come down with the hammer of justice and establish its sovereign authority.

Then the same apply to convicted Asia Bibi she also admitted her guilt...every one will calm down...State can't fight with millions of people...if so then it will be bloody civil war...
