Afghanistan is a lost cause, and Pakistan needs to get rid of its obsession with helping Afghanistan - Afghans have shown nothing but hostility towards Pak for the last 100 years. Afghans have been unable to develop their country, and the only thing they know is war.

The Afghan border should be quarantined completely. Only women and children should be allowed to enter as refugees, and that too at a controlled rate so intel agencies can track them and make sure they don't start blowing themselves up.

Look at the Indians, willing to bomb a nuclear armed state in response to alleged support for terror attacks. Afghanistan is, no offense, a shithole, and its support for terrorism is well documented. Why is Pakistan so afraid to act? Hell, even in 1971 battle plans were for an Israeli style lightning offensive into India.

Of course, these suggestions are pointless because no one in charge cares enough to make any change unless their source of income or ticket out is threatened. In fact, they have probably already been suggested, ignored, and thrown out.

I concur - we will still have a role to play in Afghanistan but our priority needs to be trade and development and investment in renewable energy and desalinisation technology to beat this drought.

Stationary motorcycle IEDs are their trademark. So you wouldn’t be wrong to come to the conclusion that it could be BLA or one of their bastard offshoots.

Looks like it bro. They're going for these types of attacks due to being crippled on the active war front. Their big attacks will be suicide attackers if they manage to get through.
We just need to keep on killing more of them until very few are left and then, just maybe then terms can be dictated to them.

We also need to work on cutting their supply to materials and components to construct HME(home made explosives) as primers for IEDs. This starts with restrictions of fertiliser.

Sir I’ve taken that into consideration in my analysis - the fertiliser in question is CAN (Calcium Ammonium Nitrate).

Since 2011 there have been several new plants set up in the country that produce a variety of different types of fertiliser.

Furthermore the following figure shows that Pakistan's crop table shows the diversity of fertiliser that can be used in Pakistan instead of CAN based fertiliser. To put it into perspective Pakistan has the capacity to produce 4.3 million tonnes of urea based fertiliser annually.

So all Pakistan would have to do is ban CAN fertiliser and promote the sale and production of Urea based fertiliser.

KARACHI: At least one woman died and 11 others sustained injuries in an explosion on Karachi’s MA Jinnah road, police said on Monday.

Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital Dr Rubina confirmed the death of the woman in the blast, saying that the condition of the four injured is critical.

According to preliminary investigation, an improvised explosive device (IED) was planted in a motorcycle to target a police vehicle.

The blast damaged a number of motorbikes, a rickshaw and a police van.

In view of the emergency situation, the bomb disposal squad personnel have also reached the blast site.

Meanwhile, Senior Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) official Raja Umer Khattab said that ball-bearing was used in making the explosives, adding that an IED was installed on the motorcycle.

The official further said that he saw a resemblance between the explosions that took place in Saddar recently and Kharadar areas today.

The target of the blast seemed to be the police mobile that patrolled the area on a daily basis, he added.

Rescue sources said police personnel were also among the injured.

The police have cordoned off the area and further investigation is underway.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the blast that took place in the Kharadar locality of the metropolis.

He directed the Sindh police chief to submit a detailed report on the incident and also ordered the district administration to reach the spot and carry out rescue work.

An emergency has been declared at the Civil Hospital on the order of the chief minister, the spokesperson said.
Karachi Administrator Murtaza Wahab said in a tweet that the number of injured increased to 11 while four are critically injured.

Sir let me tell you a story from this old goat - in 2006 we did a risk assessment for a sensitive department building after a fire in their complex destroyed a records room and determined that they had fire extinguishers which we left in a pile in the seat of the fire unused- upon enquiry - we asked why weren’t they used - the answer we got was we just threw them in the fire and expected them to explode and put the fire out.

What Pakistan needs is a cultural change! There is no accountability and everyone thinks they are a tees maar khan.

In 2008 we did a scenario for female suicide bombers using burkahs and were laughed out of the room by an IG who will remain unnamed.

Theses are the incompetent swines at the top of the tree… I lament and laugh at the same time.

It sometimes boggles my mind hearing these tales.

Corruption, bribery, theivery, all these things can be understood one way or the other.

But sheer incompetence is something I have never been able to grasp my mind around. How can people such as those be in positions of power when very capable individuals are either rotting out of the system, or gone abroad and benefitting other countries.

Please tell me there was a mechanism to work around that IG or smack some sense into him. If he is alive still, I hope he recalls this incident after hearing about the KU bomber.
