PN Marines vying for Military Assault Boats (MAB)

[PAR 5]

Pakistan Navy through Directorate of Procurement (Navy) recently invited offers for purchase of 14 Coastal (30 tons) and 4 Creek (12 tons) Military Assault Boats (armored against 7.62x39mm rounds). A total of 10 offers were received and evaluated. Out of the 10 offers, the Polish Company Techno Marine (that previously supplied RHIBs to SSGN) has apparently been declared the lowest technically qualified bidder. ToT is also the part of this tender with almost bulk of boats to be manufactured at KS&EW. Lets see how things pan out in coming weeks.

We got some 3 Hama APC inside , and may be 20 Marines , and emergency call comes in
the Crafts makes a immediate shift from Sea patrol to Coast and drops some troops to neturalize threat

If threat is at sea the guns on the shit can stop any Pirate

Ideal platform for Coastline/Marine role on our own side of border

However, the lowest bidder are the Polish Techno Marine, that essentially do not have any kind of a boat close to what is required. PN specifically outlined in the tenders that no prototype will be accepted and the boat has to be of an already in-use design. So I am not sure what is this Polish company up to.

I always wonder that we have a shipyard that churns out cargo vessels and other stuff but we cant even design and manufacture quality riverine craft inshore patrol boats of quality and substance.

Look at the size of the facility of the Polish Manufacturer and look at the size of KSEW and the number of people working there. It is sorry state of affairs.

With all due respects all shipyards the world over bring out their designs be it Bulk Carriers, Container Vessels or Super Tankers!! Design work is an integral part of a shipyard! The Polish company is not a design concern but a design and manufacturing concern.

Research and design are two different things maybe you are mixing one with the other.

KSEW has a full fledged design office and CAD/CAM design software too.

In such cases, we should really try to low-ball the OEM into very competitive pricing plus true turnkey ToT with rights to the original design IP (so that we can learn and build upon it in the subsequent years).
