OO I thought P3C was supposed to replace ATlantique.
Nopz we received upgraded version i think P-3C MPA in 2007 and future upgrades includes hawkeye 2000 system.
thanks for elaborating it.one atlantic is currently operational along with 2 P3C from the original order of 3 (recently upgraded) and 2 P3Cs from the order of 8 Ex-USN EDA stocks are operational. these 4 a/c will be sent back to the US (Martin Marietta plant) for the upgrades "Growler" is talking about.
further it is expected that at-least 1 P3C with the Hawkeye 2000 system will be delivered in 2010.
Fokker F-27s will continue to service the PN for some time to come as all ex-PIA F-27s were sold to the PN for "spares".
thanks for elaborating it.
but sir do you think its worth spending a billion dollars on just upgrades which is going to serve no more then 1.5 or max 2 decades? where as if we take the option of replacing our aging medium MPA fleet with new generation systems like ATR-72 will serve us much longer... PN has to catch the "uptodate" pace.
and another point... i cant find that article which mentions that P-3 and cobra upgradtion funds have been allocated for F-16 program.
friend - it was jane's article i posted either in F-16 discussions thread or some-where else - sorry cant help beyond that except i can post it again for you!
