PTI Chairman believes Nawaz Sharif shouldn't have sided against neighbouring state Iran

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said Monday Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif disappointed the whole nation with his visit to Arab Islamic American Summit in Saudi Arabia. He also said Pakistan shouldn t have sided against Iran.

PTI Chief slammed the ruling government as well as head of state by fierce criticism on the existing foreign policy. He went on to describe PM Nawaz’s condition as ‘a twelfth man’ who wasn’t allowed to bat despite tedious net practice.

While talking about Riyadh summit, he said millions of rupees from national resources were wasted on the Saudi Arab visit. “For what purpose did Nawaz Sharif took part in the summit?” he asked.

Imran Khan believes Pakistan should not side against neighbouring state Iran. While media talk, he warned that if justice was denied in Panama case JIT then PTI would hit the roads for sit-ins, adding that 2018 elections should be held with a ‘neutral umpire’ and he would personally discuss with other political parties to make this happen.

He makes it sound like Nawaz Sharif controls foreign policy. Is he clueless or afraid to question the real authority that controls foreign policy?
He is doing opposition just for sake of it
akhir kuch na kuch to Chaya na rouz jalse aur dharne main bolne k lia

Simple solution for Nawaz $harif.

In protest, N$ should deliver his prepared speech (for this summit) on PTV and address the 55 odd leaders he wanted to address in Riyadh highlighting his achievements and his strategic plan and also vision for his country in specific and for entire Muslim world in general.

And let the world know how visionary his leadership is - that would be a befitting reply to his opponents including Zardari and Imran.

Your views please - @Imad.Khan @war&peace @Syed1. @PakSword @Guvera @Verve - as a nation we should not let PM fail and become a laughing stock as he has become all over the world and how Indian media is ridiculing him by saying "NS has experienced Royal Humiliation" - I think he should not sit like a lame duck and show his mettle to the world that he is a true leader of Muslim ummah!

Pakistan was completely ignored at the summit and by Trump, Nawaz did not even get to read his prepared speech. The anti-Iranian atmosphere being endorsed there is also bad for our relations. Read the Dawn Article, he is making some very good points:

Imran criticises PM Nawaz Sharif for 'ineffective' tour of Saudi Arabia

The PTI chief, speaking to the media, accused the prime minister of failing to take a stand for Pakistan and other Muslim communities, including Iran, Kashmir and Palestine, during his interactions in Riyadh.

Khan pointed out that in his speech, US President Trump had failed to mention the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan in the war against terror, and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had failed to correct him.

"The most important thing is that he [Trump] did not even mention Pakistan ... the country that fought America's war and lost 70,000 people," Khan said.

"The country became a front-line state and sacrificed lives in the war but ... instead [Trump] praised [India]," Khan added.

During his speech, Trump had named India among the countries that are a "victim of terrorism".

Khan also criticised the US president for not speaking about the atrocities committed by India against the people of India-held Kashmir.

"He [Trump] praised India for making sacrifices and did not speak about the atrocities being committed against the Kashmiris ... he did not speak about Palestinians," he added.

The PTI chief said that when Trump lashed out against Iran and called for the country to be isolated, Prime Minister Sharif should have taken a stance and said that such a move would be against the interests of the Muslim world.

During his speech, Trump had accused Iran of fuelling “the fires of sectarian conflict and terror” and called for its international isolation.

"He [the prime minister] should have spoken about the parliamentary resolution which was unanimously accepted by all parties and which said that Pakistan would work to bring the Muslim community together," Khan said.

He added that since Nawaz was representing Pakistan at the summit, it was his duty to emphasise that Pakistan does not want Iran to be isolated.

"We had an opportunity, but he kept silent," the PTI chief said. "We do not want the Muslim world to be divided," he added.

Khan added that considering the destruction Pakistan has suffered due to its involvement in "the wars of others," it should have been highlighted by the prime minister that the country "will not be a partisan to these matters."

@Kash_Ninja

You do realize that it is main establishment that has control over foreign policy. Why do you think PMLN has no foreign minister to begin with?

Besides, Pakistan is ignored due to its neutral stances on KSA-Iran. Not to mention the common goal between KSA and Trump on Iran, and why India is on board due to Iran getting closer with Pakistan for CPEC. It is combination of factors that is keeping Pakistan aside.

Nawaz Sharif went there to fulfill the formality much like puppet is supposed to follow the script. That's all.

You do realize that it is main establishment that has control over foreign policy. Why do you think PMLN has no foreign minister to begin with?

Because Nawaz didn't appoint one, thats why he drags Sartaj Aziz around with him everywhere because he is the foreign minister.

Besides, Pakistan is ignored due to its neutral stances on KSA-Iran. Not to mention the common goal between KSA and Trump on Iran, and why India is on board due to Iran getting closer with Pakistan for CPEC. It is combination of factors that is keeping Pakistan aside.

Why was India specifically named in Trumps speech then? They are working on Chabahar port with the Iranians along with the Afghans who also got mentioned. Pakistan has lost 70,000 lives and is at the frontline of the War on Terror, and Trump names all these other countries sacrifices and omits Pakistan? The country that is a NATO ally, a close friend of Saudi Arabia, and the only nuclear power in the entire alliance.

You gotta ask that question to main establishment as far as i am concerned about Sartaj Aziz, not Nawaz Sharif. Again, Nawaz Sharif has no control over foreign policy.

#Iran is not working with India in regards to Chabahar port. That project is not possible due to Donald Trump which made it clear to India. And ironically, India is on board which is the reason pushed Iran towards Pakistan lately.

Donald Trump omits Pakistan? What do you expect from Donald Trump that has been against Pakistan from beginning even before he became PM of USA. Are you really that surprised?

He puts India on map because many Indians have voted for Donald Trump and even several Indians bankrolled Donald Trump for his campaign.

But American military have been vocal about Pakistan and its dedicated commitment to eradicate terrorism for years. As for Donald Trump, don't take him serious. He is just idiot who is buttering KSA in exchange for money to boost arm sales. Similarity, he is keeping India closer just to keep Pakistan at bay. It is long-term plan of USA's foreign policy.

At the end, KSA will be left alone to fend for itself while begging Pakistan military for help. Let KSA drowns in delusion while its can. There is nothing you can do about KSA since it is motivated by hatred and sectarian agenda against Iran. Because of that, USA is milking the situation to its advantage.

If pro PMLN newspapers like The Nation are publishing these types of stories - then something must have went terribly wrong.

--------------

RIYADH - Something has gone terribly wrong. This is the only way one can describe what happened to Pakistani delegation headed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the Arab-Islamic-American summit held in the Saudi capital on Sunday.

The popular sentiment among the majority of Pakistani media delegation was that of a total humiliation of the sole Muslim nuclear power because not only there was no mention of Islamabad’s role against global terrorism but also the prime minister of the ‘frontline state’ was denied the opportunity to put forth its point of view.

Representatives of some minion states were allowed to speak that have not even tasted a shred of the kind of carnage faced by Pakistan, which however has turned the tide on terror in an unprecedented episode of courage, commitment and sacrifice that no other participant of the 35-state summit could even think of offering for world peace.

“The nations of Europe have also endured unspeakable horror. So too have the nations of Africa and even South America. India, Russia, China and Australia have been victims,” US President Donald Trump said in his keynote address, skipping the name of Pakistan - which lost over 70,000 civilians and more than 6,000 of its valiant soldiers to terrorism.

The mention of India among the list of terror victims was more pinching as it comes at a time Islamabad, through spy-terrorist Kalbhushan Jadhav’s case at International Court of Justice, is trying to convince the world of New Delhi’s role in fanning terror.

Terming India a victim of terrorism was also a deeply painful insult to innocent, unarmed Kashmiris who are fighting for their just cause of liberating their land from the oppressive India and facing worst kind of state terrorism at the hands of its armed forces.

Joining Muslim Nato fires back!

An even bigger setback for Pakistan’s foreign policy came when both Trump and Saudi King Salman – the most influential pair – turned the summit into a launching pad against Iran, the leader of the Shia Muslims that shares a 909 km long border with Pakistan, whose around 20 percent population is Shia by faith.

Accusing Saudi Arabia’s regional rival of fuelling “the fires of sectarian conflict and terror”, Trump called for isolating Tehran. “Until the Iranian regime is willing to be a partner for peace, all nations of conscience must work together to isolate it,” Trump said.

Saudi King Salman in his speech called Iran “the spearhead of global terrorism” and called for containing it. “We did not know terrorism and extremism until the [Ayatollah Ruhollah] Khomeini revolution reared its head [in Iran],” he said.

Pakistan has joined the 34-nation KSA-led military alliance ‘against terrorism’ and the government allowed its celebrated ex-army chief Raheel Sharif to head alliance’s rapid deployment forces – despite fierce opposition at home.

The move was opposed by almost all opposition parties over fears that the so-called ‘Muslim NATO’ could eventually turn out to be an alliance of Sunni Gulf states against Shia Iran and bring Islamabad into the vortex of transnational Sunni-Shia conflict.

The cold-shoulder attitude of King Salman to Pakistani delegation was particularly hurtful. Some diplomats were of the view that since Pakistan refused to send its troops to fight against Iran-backed rebels in Yemen, it might have annoyed the Saudi monarchy.

Though both Trump and King Salman also called for defeating Sunni terrorist state-cum-organistaion of Islamic State (ISIS), it was clear that Iran and its allies are going to be the main target of this new battle in the name of terrorism.

Interestingly, it is none other than the US and the KSA [Kingdom of Saudi Arabia] which are thought to be the creators of Al-Qaeda and ISIS.

Trump goes Bush

Trump, who would spit venom against Muslims during his election campaign and who is now living up to his words by pursuing anti-Muslim policies, urged Muslim leaders to take a stand against religious extremism, describing this struggle as a “battle between good and evil” – a catchphrase made popular by former US Present George W Bush.

He also conveniently overlooked the state terrorism perpetuated by the successive Israeli regimes, particularly that of Benjamin Netanyaho – who had told the then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that he would continue to butcher and slaughter Palestinian men, women and children.

Mr Trump also avoided criticising his Saudi hosts and assembled leaders of Arab and Islamic nations on any human rights violations in their countries – a clear break from the practice of his predecessor Barack Obama.

Prime Embarrassment!

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, earlier on his special flight, spent nearly two and a half hours consulting his comrades-in-arms preparing and finalising his speech that he thought he would deliver at the summit.

Also, the members of the media delegation were given to understand that after checking against delivery, the speech would be released to accompanying journalists. But now, the prime minister or his staff will carry that speech folder back home.

Later, neither Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz nor any other responsible person was available to explain why the prime minister was denied the opportunity to speak to the participants of the summit, for which a Saudi minister only last week visited Islamabad and extended the invitation to PM Sharif.

It was also quite strange that though there was almost no possibility of a Sharif-Trump meeting, the Foreign Office, back at home, kept hyping it up. In the end, let alone the meeting, we were even not invited to let the others know how we think about the fight against terrorism.

Pakistan was essentially the most important Muslim country after Saudi Arabia in terms of leadership of the Muslim Ummah and the leading state in terms of fight against global terrorism, but the treatment meted out to us here in Riyadh made us feel like we are pitiful losers.

A painful day for journalists

The moment the Saudi monarch closed the summit the media persons started receiving frantic calls from their offices back home in Pakistan with questions like: what has happened, how it happened, why it happened?

One of the frequently asked questions was: “Do we have a Foreign Office? But no one had any reasonable answer to this query.

This is understood that after the summit was over the prime minister must have remained engaged in remaining activities, including proceeding to the Moatamarat for groundbreaking ceremony of World Centre against Extremisms.

All said and done, for Pakistani journalists it was a dreadful day – the one full of disappointment and hurt. In the evening, every single one of us was returning to his hotel room from the Conference Centre with a heavy heart.

It was Arab-Islamic-American Summit
Leadership of how many Muslim countries were present in there?

Who else made speech in there beside Trump( was representing America ) and Host Saudia king who was representing all Muslim countries in there

watch video in here and no Pakistan was not completely ignored and stop creating issue out of nothing by listening non sense of IK

I don't care about Iranian even though I personally don't care about saudia either but Pakistan has made choice to pick one side between these two by making ex Pakistani army chief as chief of Islamic military alliances and by the way Iranian did not give us any special favours so why we should bother about them when they are on one side and rest of the Muslim countries are on other side and Iran was invited to join this alliances but they did not
