The chaiwala was actually voted for many reasons, very few if any that had anything to do with Pakistan.

He has been a total zero on Kashmir.

His saving grace is the Chinese standoff. And the surgical strikes as well as unfettered LOC response and measured escalation.

Temple is built for hindu communities in UAE, its not like he is going to sit all the dubai sheikhs in line and convert them into hinduism by sprinkling goumutra on them.

But one Mandir in a land where hundreds of thousands of Hindus live and work, and it's the biggest trending news everywhere for a week.

I do not know why we Indians are giving this so much traction though?

It's the most natural thing in the world for us.

Silly petty people thinking if it as some major spiritual victory. Driving the frenzy non stop.

This is extremely narrow and is in no way a celebration of Hinduism. UAE has its reasons and couldn't care less about these things.

I'm not accusing it to be some covert mafia or anything. Just that this is the result of giving into lobbying from a specific group that profits UAE and some Indians.
But it's certainly not a celebration of our culture.

I hope people don't attack me since I'm from another community. I donate to temples every year. Thankfully there are enough temples around me that aren't foundations for profit.

May I ask a slightly religious question?

Every Mandir I have been to has a deity right?

But I as a Parsi when I go in, I pray to Ahura Mazda. God. Who for me is one. The only one.

Yes I ring the bell, put the tika etc. Eat the prasad. And bow and touch the foot of the deity or the raise step into the sanctum sanctorum.

But how do Hindus pray?

Do you have prayers to specific deities depending on which Mandir you are going to?

Or are there general non Mandir non deity specific prayers as well?

Yes, there are specific stothrams and mantrams for different deities. But it's obviously not a strict thing.
A culturally rich place will have temples dedicated to most deities. Many deities are known to give specific types of blessings.

But it's up to the worshipper what to pray for or if they should chant a stothram or mantram. Most Hindus I know don't even know a couple of them to chant though. So it's essentially freestyle, which isn't a bad thing.

There are of course bhajans as well.

And yes, there are indeed stotrams not aimed at specific deities.

Sure.

But I want to acknowledge the multitudes of prayers in the form of songs and prose that's practised by the Indians with roots here older than Sanskrit.
I feel like I ignored them in the previous post.

It's of course them and even the other regional temple practises that I worry about disappearing when I hear a news like this.
We've come full circle back to the topic.
