Iraq had created an integrated air defense system in 1990 when other Islamic countries had little idea about his concept. Iraqi "trash" shot down 60 coalition aircraft in the Persian Gulf War in 1991. This was the situation when US was using special forces, stealth aircraft, and Tomahawk cruise missiles to attack Iraqi C2 infrastructure and prevent a coherent Iraqi military response. Iraqi air defense system was impressive in its time but US had developed technologies that had no counter in the world at the time.Imo all are trash and old tech. Like saudis buying old tech, while usa moves into their 5th -6th gen.
A lot of it is theoretical marketing terms, where the launcher is sitting unmolested. That's why I indicated they will only bring tokyo to ruin as a retributive strike will make them irrelevant.
Nato likes to market all the capabilities of each piece of hardware they release to get sales. When you look at russia all that "armour" on the leopards, abrams and challengers that you see in marketing materials (like gorilla glass) with special names counted for nothing. These are all staged 1v1 capabilities for marketers. Russia became a victim of that with it's bragging about it's airforce.
Good info, but it proves everyone else are being sold old gen and marketed old gen while usa keeps tabs ahead of it. Iraq had some capability but lost it almost instantly because it just appiled but was being designed out as you say. The hand me down tech is misleading nonwhite countries, into thinking about it instead of the latest. Only China is focused on the latest but everyone should be. I think it's strategic marketing by Nato to promote old tech when they know it's outdated.Iraq had created an integrated air defense system in 1990 when other Islamic countries had little idea about his concept. Yugoslavia had also created an integrated air defense system during 1990s. Yugoslavia created a more mobile integrated air defense system with Soviet P-18 radar systems in the mix to help detect F-117A. This system was supposedly better than the Iraqi system but US introduced vastly superior B-2A to cripple Yugoslavian military capability. End of.
Syria created an integrated air defense system with a mix of Soviet, Russian, and Chinese technology but Russia maintained control of the most capable S-300 and S-400 systems in the region. This setup could not prevent US and Israel from attacking targets of their choice in the region either because US and Israel are improving their military capability as well. US have used advanced cruise missiles to attack select Syrian targets and 5th generation fighters to deter Russian forces in the region. Israel is doing the same.
Check some details in following post:
B-21 Bomber can penetrate Chinas most advanced air defense systems: US Senator
Well big difference between flown around and penetrate. Don't brag about it, try it and see. If we did, you would not know it. https://defence.pk/pdf/threads/f-35a-chinas-greatest-threat.765508/#post-14323680 When was the last time American tried a decent air force. Maybe none. But is...pdf.defence.pk
Regional powers can create defenses that might be good enough for regional conflicts but challenging US is a different matter altogether. Why pick fights that you cannot win? Bashar al-Assad have dodged the bullet for now, he is a hothead as well but smarter than other hotheads. He has kept Iranian elements in check and accepted Rojava to see how it goes.
Japan is also a member of MTCR in effect there is no restriction for the US to share it with the Japanese. If max ranged over 300km, it broke restriction export rule.
It make precedent for another country to do same.
