Pakistanis have general hate for computer and all digital data collection tools,because machines don't lie neither they fabricate anything.Only way to curb corruption in Pakistan is, least possible amount of contact between money and govt servants.

They framed another Govt servant,who last time made a detailed plan for automation in revenue collection.That guy was made to leave Pakistan,and we know him by name of Ashir Azeem.
Whole world is going towards automation, data science and artificial intelligence, and our bureaucrats want to keep enjoying old golden days.
Rather than ranting on the decision, they should complete courses and keep their jobs relevant in the new setup or they should get their ar$es ready for kicks.
Shabbar Zaidi is extremely talented.. these reforms are mostly his ideas.. I know because I have worked under him for a brief period in mid 2000s. I knew, if given free hand, he would bring much sought after reforms in FBR.
Problem is that, IKs cabinet is full of retards and snakes.. they will never allow him to bring these changes and if IK is able to bring these reforms, forget 5 trillion, the revenue will be increased to 10 trillion rupees per year in 5 years.. which means 70 billion dollars.. by that time, our exports will be reaching 50 billion dollars and remittances will be close to 30 billion in shaa Allah... imagine what we can achieve with 150 billion dollars per year..

I agree with both of you and add few things of my own how do people expect that a bureaucrats/sarkari mulazim who coming from the assembly line of public schools primarily hired on the most blatant insult to merit i.e quota system by s**king it up to a local MNA/MPA and paying hefty bribes for the job, would be doing justice to his job serving thy nation, why do people prefer a Govt job over private sector, for corruption, power, authority and job security anything I miss?
The other problem is most of people in the land of pure don't want to cough up taxes, despite having audit from a reputed audit firm every 4 to 5 years our family business is audited by FBR, since we don't give bribe to those w**res, in the last 20 years we have taken them to supreme court and won the cases, simply because our books are in order and we will never pay any bribe or compromise, compromise is required where there is something to hide, the day businessmen will start paying taxes FBR will get inline itself.
Bhai it is very simple why every bureaucrat wants to fail every attempt at automation, simple because the tooti of haraam will be plugged this way. I have these c**k su**ers on courses in USA with IRS, senior most bureaucrats come to those course, idiot who have no hand one experience will never roll their sleeves up to do the actual work or close to retirement cases. Their entire world revolves around shopping, TA/DA and finding ways to get a green card for themselves and their children, find a way to damage to the country in return for table scraps although I like the urdu Equivalent (RAATAB), did i miss ogling at every women and bars for hard drinks.
I have met Shabbar few times and found him to be aware of what is wrong with the tax system, be it the bureaucrats or the traders they might get a small respite but all the changes could be delayed slightly but the changes are on the radar of not only Shabbar, IK but those whose decision matter the most, even he deep state.
Bhai if we could only fix over/under invoicing system get info through MLA from countries where all exported/importers have setup their shell companies our imports will decrease by 50 and exports increase by atleast 30-40%, I am not joking being deep inside the heartland I know what is so f***ing wrong with our financial system.
