Dhaka, Nov 28 (bdnews24.com)—Bangladesh on Wednesday called for an immediate end to occupation of Palestine, persecution of the Palestinians and killing of innocent civilians.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in a message on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People to be observed on Thursday said: "Bangladesh has always been on the side of the Palestine people."

She urged the international community to play a more effective role for the peaceful resolution of disputes in the Middle East and asked for immediate revival of the peace process for lasting peace in the region.

Bangladesh wants viable a Palestine state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, living side-by-side and in peace with all its neighbours, according to the Prime Minister.

"It is a matter of great regret that for 65 years the people of Palestine are being denied their fundamental rights to live freely in their own land," she observed.

Hasina condemned atrocities and violence in Gaza and the West Bank that are causing loss of lives of Palestinian civilians and are posing renewed threat to regional peace and stability.

Bangladesh joins the international community in reaffirming its unwavering commitment to the realistaion of the inalienable rights of the Palestine people to an independent homeland and a sovereign and viable state of Palestine, the Prime Minister further said.

A comprehensive solution of the Palestinian issue in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions, the Arab Peace Plan and the Road Map are the best guides for achieving a two-state solution.

"We hope that all concerned parties will take a pragmatic approach for the early implementation of the Road Map for peace in the Middle East," she concluded.

1. Palestine is not a Bangladeshi problem but a dispute between two groups of people, both of whom are quite racist. Palestinians who are well-known troublemakers in the gulf and often abuse non-Arab Muslims whom they hold in contempt and the Israelis who are just as bad and treat Jewish blacks from Ethiopia like dirt.

2. What have Palestinians - when they are not killing each other e.g. Hamas v Fatah - ever said about the Rohingya problem? What have Palestinians ever said about the suffering of Muslims in Pakistan or Kashmir?

3. We should keep out of this and merely state the standard "we hope that violence and bloodshed will end and peace will resume" line that all non-interested states issue.

4. Bangladesh will never recognize Israel until the vast majority of the international community and Arab world does i.e. Bangladesh follows the same policy as Malaysia and other non-Arab Muslim countries.

5. Hasina should keep her mouth shut and concentrate on developing Bangladesh and stopping her Awami league thugs from looting the country and carrying out crime, as well as solving the Rohingya crisis.
