Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has recommended the Sitara-e-Shujaat for Aitzaz Hasan, brave student from Hangu
who foiled a suicide attack. The prime minister's recommendation has been forwarded to President Mamnoon Hussain.
Aitzaz a student of class IX sacrificed his life on January 6 when he prevented a suicide bomber from entering the premises of his school during the morning assembly. Aitzaz's brave act resulted in the lives of several students being saved.
The brave student was on his way to school when he spotted a suspicious person. When Atizaz called out to this person, he started walking faster towards the school. In an effort to stop the attacker, Aitzaz threw a rock which failed to hit him. This is when Aitzaz ran towards the person prompting the suicide bomber to detonate his explosive laden vest.
Teachers and students at Aitzaz's school paid tribute to the brave young man, saying that his sacrifice led to a greater tragedy being averted. "We request the government to name our school after him," said a classmate of Atizaz.
Aitzaz's family members said they were proud of his sacrifice. "He sacrificed his life to save others," said Aitzaz's father.
Aitzaz's bravery was widely praised both on traditional and social media. Several hash tags on twitter started trending in Pakistan calling for Aitzaz's heroics to be recognized.

Is it the top non-military award for civilian martyrs in Pakistan? because Nishan-e-Pakistan is the highest award for civilians.
