Anyway.. summer time powercut is much worse.. it feels like hell...

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India Powercut barely 30 minutes in this season and that too during heavy rains

#Condition is hell lot better than other cities!!!

Yes condition in Lucknow is lot better than other cities still it has gone worse than what it was during Mayawati's time.Majority of roads were constructed and repaired when Vajpayeeji was PM,not many after that though mayawati also did some work on roads , now most roads lie in tatters. Power cuts have also increased as power is supplied to other more important cities like Saifai and Etawah.

well i should also share my experience in UP. condition is very bad there in cities like Kanpur and even in lucknow where daily i experienced power cut.

Kanpur is hell. 3 hours power cut is normal. It can extend upto 6 hours during summers.

Though there are no regular power cuts in lucknow still random power cuts during peak consumption periods of summer was common this year. There were power cuts of half an hour to 1 hour for some days as more important cities like Saifai and Etawah required 24*7 uninterrupted supply of power.

i agree with you completely. all the hype about Kanpur being Manchester of India went into drain when i saw the pathetic condition people were living in there. I have been to most of India and honestly speaking, UP is lagging behind big time. only good thing they have is Noida and that too because it comes under the umbrella of NCR

Kanpur was called Manchester of India. That was a long time back. Its in shambles right now.Most industries and factories have either closed down or moved out due to poor basic facilities. It has the worst infra and roads among all cities in India.

well i live ghaziabad and we can see upto 15 hours loadshedding a week ......and i study in patna which easily sees 3 hrs power cuts per day ...soo the picture isnt as rosy for theese states

I'v lived in Ghaziabad. There are places in Ghaziabad having 6-8 hours a day loadshedding. Leave Ghaziabad even the so called developed Noida is worst when to power cuts. Upto 2 hours of loadshedding is not uncommon there.

None in Hyderabad , though in the summer months we did have them for about 2-3 hrs per day .

I am currently in Hyderabad and there is minimum 2-3 hrs power cut EVERY DAY. Longer in Summer.

I have a generator and a UPS for my apartment so it keeps me isolated but I can see the dark roads every day.

More than shortage of power - its the distribution system that sucks.

The lines & transformers are outdated & over loaded , add pilferage to this & the correct picture emerges.

Yes indeed condition was better during Mayawati's Regime for atleast about Lucknow I can say that the Infrastructure development was quite emphasized, well unnecessary spending on Statues and 5000 crore corruption scam may be an issue but that lady made Lucknow look like a "Capital City" in the real sense....

BTW Saifai and Etawah are not "important cities" but are some VIP constituencies but economically no so important for if we supply Kanpur 24X7 electricity and proper infrastructure, it will immensely contribute to our GDP and may surpass Lucknow even with a GDP of $ 22 billion, well Kanpur deserves this for its the largest Income tax contributer from UP....

Well where I live there are hardly any power cuts, maybe mine is a VVIP area thats why such privileges...just 4 Kms from Kalidas Marg but I have heard that there are frequent power cuts for those who live in Old Lucknow may be due to excessive load BTW the electric wiring is terrible in that area...

I was being sarcastic . Poor state of power supply is one of the major reason for the death of industries in Kanpur.

No power cuts here in Lahore, from a few days. Before that, it was 2-3 hours a day.
