Well the government has shown plenty of restraint so far, IMV. But in this instance the police was a bit more nervous and the moment protesters crossed red lines, they were shelled. Some people in media made an issue of it, but these are the same guys that have been supporting protesters and their leaders. ARY is the worst in this case. As you can see they have been claiming 7 dead, even though the hospital admins are saying that there have been no fatalities so far. Truth is already a casualty.

We should know the facts by mid-morning. I hope all this fizzles out soon. It has taken a lot of toll as it is.

If these protesters were of NS party I would have been supporting them in the similar way for their genuine cause. If he wanted to replicate the model of 10 downing street then he should have sought permission as a good baby, given detailed info about his plans and stick to it.

If there was a chance that Army might takeover, Imran Khan wouldn't have asked for Prime Minister's resignation. It is precisely because the Army has decided to stay away that Prime Minister is being put under such pressure.

Prior to this, Imran Khan had been saying for months that protesting doesn't automatically mean it will lead to a military takeover but the opposition tried hard to give give an impression that this is all Army's sneak attack on democracy.

Then there's also the fact that the Prime Minister did try to involve the Army couple of days ago but that appeared to have backfired.
