This is where you are wrong.

The US have no designs on mainland China. As powerful as the US military is, we know we cannot survive -- a la Iraq -- for long on mainland China. What this mean is that IF there is a shooting fight between the US and China, it will be in the South China Sea (SCS) and when the PLAN loses that battle, Russia will do nothing except to cast verbal condemnations at US, which would be meaningless.

China will not fall, only militarily defeated.
