2012-05-24 (China Military News cited from PLA Daily) -- A drill was held in late April, 2012 at an airport in northwest China and the results of the drill demonstrated that the use of a new fire-control radar anti-interference system developed by a research institute of the Equipment Research Academy of the Air Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) had multiplied the effectiveness of the fighter's anti-interference capability, with its combat capability significantly enhanced in complex electromagnetic environment.
According to the briefing, this achievement has not only been applied to many fighters of the aviation force of the PLA Air Force, but also promoted to the aviation force of the PLA Navy. The research institute has been closely focusing on the combat requirements to push forward the innovation of scientific research. So far, the institute has established a military-civilian used aviation life-saving system integrating peacetime application with wartime application. The system is applicable from the mountain to the jungle, from the coast to the plateau and from individual use to systematic deployment. The institute has also set up a search and rescue equipment system which integrates functions of navigation, communication, search and rescue, positioning and rescue. The two systems have effectively improved the aviation forces' capabilities to carry out diversified military tasks under complicated conditions.
During 2011 alone, 14 achievements of the institute won the National Scientific and Technological Progress Award and the Military Scientific and Technological Progress Award, which have systematically and organically elevated the support capabilities of the aviation equipment systems.
