Bold part: On a personal note, you will not recognize me I am from Bangladesh/ east Bengal when I speak in Bengali. It is because my father being a railway officer, I was brought up among the children of families who hailed from west Bengal. Their fathers were also working in the railways.

I can speak both in our own dialect and also in the dialect of west Bengal. My intonation can still be like a person from Shantipur even after so many decades when I intend to talk that way.
