(Let's take a rest from the Great Wall of China picture series for a minute)

Located in Hebei Province, Yu Family Stone Village was founded in China's Ming Dynasty, with a history of over 500 years. It features 4,000 stone houses, 3,700-meter-long stone slab paved streets, over 1,000 stone wells and pools, and 200 stone stelas. A great deal of stone stools, tables and grinds can also be found in the village. [China.org.cn]

After these pictures appear in the media I'm sure they'll rebuild the village for all to see.

Some sections of the Wall have collapsed! What a pity!

Through hundreds (or thousands in some place) of years natural elements and no one to attend them, it's unavoidable. Many missing sections of the Wall were actually man made. There were severe shortage of building materials from time to time in China and many bricks and stone were used to build houses. It's unfortunate but that's live.

To me, whether they're intact or not, they're treasures because it's a part of Chinese history and future people, hopefully, will learn from this and take care our environments better.

BTW I intend to post all available pictures of the whole Great Wall from East to West. It'll probably take me perhaps a year to do the researches but I love it. After all researches are done I'm ready to spend a few months to explore as much of the Great Wall as possible personally. I'm looking forward for the trip!
