All the officers in IA are highly educated. IA has its own officers training academies. But the number should be increased and here IA facing competition due to economic boom and Indian industries.

well I work in one of those multinational, I went for AFSB when I was in college. IAF didn't recruit me, so guess those who are being recruited are really good.

One of my friend also tried for IA (officer-technical) recruitment from Bangalore but he didn't got it. They have very high level of requirement standards and multiple rounds of interviews (tougher than most of the high ranking/level-5 multi-nationals). But until few years back for similar level, private industries were giving more salaries, so MoD needed to increase salary via new pay commission but I think still its not very good as compared to private. Initial salary is much better than private companies but after 15 years its reverse. Earlier the situation wasn't like that when armed forces were the main choice for professional services. But over all services give much better opportunities and after retirement facilities than private companies.

The armed forces officials are highly qualified. They still get large number of applications but most them fails due to high recruitment standards.

Good to see large number of youth from Kashmir.

Yeah AFSB was the most toughest round interviews I ever faced, they will measure you bit by bit in four days. I think after latest pay commission govt offering pretty good salary, and there are other facilities also which private cos can never offer. Above all the prestige that comes with serving armed forces also counts.

I have objection to the word conscription nby xuxu 1457. Ours is a volunteer army where the best and brightest are intervied and selected. When it comes to the officer core Indian Military have high standards and they rather keep the seat vacant than fill it with a Tom, Dick or Harry.
