Old picture of Rawalpindi showing Sirdar Sujan Singh antique Palace and gardens which is located at a walking distance from famous Raja / Sarafa / Bhabra bazars of Rawalpindi...1912 AD
Rawalpindi city has some amazing old pre partition architectural heritage.
Actually Pindi still has more beautiful old buildings than vanished old Lahore.
Federal ministry for culture and federal / Punjab archaeology departments are criminally negligent toward fast disappearing cityscapes of historic towns like Pindi, Taxila, Hassanabdal, Attock etc.
Last time when I visited this palace, then it was in a very bad shape.
Some strange security guards were sitting outside its main door.
They told us that the place belonged to Shiekh Rashid Ahmad, and he wanted to donate it to the government of Pakistan.
Those strange security guards didn't allow us to either photograph or enter the building.
In order to get some warmth ,during winter months they were burning an antique wooden pillar, which looked like a part of this majestic structure.
