PIA steward accused of theft detained in London

LONDON: A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight steward accused of theft was detained here on Tuesday.



Customs officials have recovered phones from flight steward Khurram Shahzad when his luggage was searched.



According to a PIA spokesman, Khurram Shahzad was part of the flight crew of PK-786 which flies from London to Islamabad.



In September 2014, custom authorities in Lahore took crew of PIA’s flight from London into custody after recovering mobile phones and foreign currency.



In January 2014, a PIA steward was sentenced to five year imprisonment after proven guilty in heroin smuggling bid.

When the likes of zardari do the hiring , or his henchmen or frontman .that is what you get . PIA should be depolitisized. All the sifarshis should be fired no compensation or golden handshake deal done . These guys got jobs after bribing ppp . An example should be made of them so the next time nobody will offer bribes if they know its not worth it.
I had a friend who got job through ppp at OGDC , one month job the 2nd free and you get paid for it . He only worked a couple of months and ppp was toppled . He and a few dozen sifarshis were laid off .In zardari era he appealed and got his job back . Got all the back payments , promotions etc , he worked for three months took 18lakh of taxpayers money and never went back . The office tried to reach him with warnings and what not , but his game plan was if they fire me , i can always claim its a political thing and when ppp comes back he will appeal the case again . Now you tell me this is just one case , its the same all over govt institutes. The likes of PIA AND PASKISTAN STEEL MILLS are overcrowded and cant make a profit. So i say get rid of em , without golden handshakes
