Bluish Grey is difficult to spot in sky than the GREEN or YELLOW colors.

Also, we are the BLEED BLUE nation. Most of our teams, if not all, have blue color too ;)

Good news .

Will India be using this as a Medium transport helicopter or a gunship

What is going on ? How many times IAF's is gonna induct Mi17V5 ? From the last 3-4 months, after every couple of weeks such news comes...
Yes I was confused at first aswell. Previous reports have been if these birds being delivered in India (knocked-down form from Russia) whilst this particular ceremony (tomorrow) is these birds being inducted into IAF having been assembled and tested by IAF extensively (where I assume these pics are from-trails in India by IAF). Hence from tomorrow these birds will actually be on active duty with IAF.

The bluish grey colour is for all IAF choppers (which this helo is for) whilst the green/yellow camos on Dhruvs are exclusively for IA AAC/BSF- even the IAF Dhruvs are painted Grey. It is to do with operating procedure, it is assumed most IAF helos will mostly be flying high facing threats from the ground hence the need for grey camo whereas the IA AAC/BSF will inherently be flying low-level missions in direct support of troops and hence the need for jungle/desert camo.

A medium tactical that can be armed for self protection. IAF has dedicated attack helos and is getting many more along with IA AAC.

Ok, I got a question.. If India already has the Dhruv which can also be armed, why do we need this chopper? :undecided:

Are we going to get any pics/video of the Induction ceremony today? I mean it was rather big as the Defence minister himself went so I's assume there was some press present.
