PG monarchies, West aggravate situation in Iraq: Analyst
A political analyst says the Persian Gulf states and Western powers complicate the situation in Iraq by pursuing their own interests in the country.
There are outside forces playing a role in the disturbances in Iraq where [it] is fairly clear that some of the surrounding countries and some of the countries that are farther away are playing a role in trying to advance their own interest inside Iraq which further complicates the problems that the Iraqis would have if nobody was involved at all, former chief of the US Mission in Iraq, \on Wednesday.
He further pointed out that the meddling of outside forces in the affairs of Iraq aggravates the situation and makes it difficult to resolve the countrys problems.
You have all of the countries in the [Persian] Gulf, north of Iraq, east of Iraq, west of Iraq who are all trying to advance their own interests by strengthening or supporting or encouraging those groups of people that represent the ones that they would like to have greater power and that further complicates the problems faced by everyone in Iraq and of course especially the president and his government because almost anything they do, almost everything they do is going to be rejected by one side or the other or by a bunch of people on that side or a bunch of group on this side, Peck explained.
The analyst also noted that the outside parties which try to advance their interests in opposition to the interests of the people of Iraq will lead the country into chaos and shattered nationality.
It is not easy, it is especially difficult after blood has been spilled, a lot of blood and no one is sure of just how it is that they are going to solve the problem until the demonstrators who support reconciliation have the upper hand. But they are not going to do this by force and that gives them a serious disadvantage facing people who are prepared to use force or violence. That is what makes it so complicated, Peck concluded.
