Pfizer and BionTech will deliver through the international vaccine-sharing facility COVAX some of the 2 billion COVID-19 vaccine doses it announced on Friday as new supplies for low- and middle-income countries.

The doses will be allocated “through bilateral agreements, agreements with supranational organizations as well as our partnership with COVAX,” a Pfizer spokesman said.

Great but hundreds of millions of these doses need to be provided this year at least.

I am afraid that Pfizer is losing the PR war as something like 1 billion AstraZeneca vaccines will be delivered to the 3rd world this year, with hundreds of millions already in people's arms.

How much is Pfizer charging for its vaccines to be delivered as part of Covax? A full dose ws $23 last time i checked.

Surely, if countries are contributing to Covax financially, they use the AstraZeneca vaccine which at $3 per dose can reach more people for the same money and help bring this pandemic to a close asap ?!
